The Abbey Arboretum and The College of Wooster Campus

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

We are thankful of the generous gift to the College of Wooster that made possible the designation of our campus as an arboretum – The Abbey Arboretum. Paul Abbey (Wooster class of ’73) and his wife, Constance Norweb Abbey, have established the campus-wide Arboretum at Wooster. The campus consists of over 2,800 trees managed by the grounds staff lead by Phil Olsen. The Wooster Tree Ring Lab has recently updated the tree-ring record from the white oaks on campus and the tree centric organization lead by Paul Abbey – Rooted in Trees featured our class work (fall 2026) with the College updated oak tree-ring record in their newsletter excerpted below – the full text is here:

Many thanks to Jessica Wharton Travis of Rooted in Trees for great prose and compelling story.
