Remember the Cross - Guest Post by Emily Hart

Today is Good Friday, a day where we take time to remember all Christ did for us. When He was beaten, bruised, and put on a cross to die for all of our sins.

Jesus died because He loved us so much. What kept Him hanging on the cross in excruciating pain, was the thought of being able to spend eternity with US. He made a way for us to be with Him forever.

He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed. – 1 Peter 2:24 (NLT)

Christ died once and for all. He died for EVERY single one of the sins we have ever done and the ones we will do in the future. Satan tries to tell us otherwise. God loves you and He forgives you! Nothing is TOO big for our God to forgive. No matter how many times you fall, He still picks you up. Hold firm to that truth when satan’s lies come.

For me the cross is a reminder of many things: 1. How great His love is for me. 2. I am now pure in Christ. 3. I am no longer bound by sin, because He paid for it. 4. I will spend eternity with Christ because of what He did for me there on that cross. 5. God remembers my sin no more.

We need to remember the cross and all Christ did for us more than once a year. We need to realize how great and powerful His love and forgiveness truly is.

Take time to thank God today and every day for all He went through for you. Bask in His AMAZING LOVE!!
