Dr. Sam, here, is talking about the big earthquake in Turkey that they had on the 24th January at about 9 pm local time as a lead-up to more and greater activity on the fault of Antioch. And I will say, right at the beginning, that the ‘International Geophysical Year 1957′ found that all of the major fault lines of the Earth, under the water and on land, are connected. So a big earthquake on the Antioch fault starting in southern Turkey can trigger large earthquakes elsewhere in the world, and as Dr Sam indicates, visa versa. (See, too, world fault map below)..

It all started soon after the earthquake in Turkey, with magnitude (6.8) on the Richter scale, and after it, various secondary tremors occurred ranged between 3.5 and 4.5 on the Richter scale up to now. The impact of the earthquake spread to reach neighbouring countries, including Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, northern Jordan and Transjordan or the West Bank …

The most important earthquake occurred in the region of the Dead Sea, with magnitude of 4.3 … This was evidence of a Geomechanical response and the beginning of the movement of the failure of Antioch and the Red Sea.

Notes. Both the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea (mentioned above) are on the Jordan River. The Jordan river arises in the mountains of Lebanon, which is the high point in the Middle East, and flows south. Conversely, the Orontes River (mentioned below) arises in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon and flows north to empty into the Mediterranean Sea in southern Turkey. One goes south and the other north, but both are part of the major Antioch fault line, which Dr. Sam explains (also on the map of the International Geophysical Year for 1957, below). Continuing..
