Ravens Fans Eye NFL Schedule Release
Did you find yourself waking up this week with a case of the Monday blues? Well cheer up, because it’s NFL schedule release week! On Thursday we finally attach the “when” to the already known “who” and “where” in terms of the Ravens’ 2022 opponents. Will we see Buffalo come to town on a chilly December night for Monday Night Football? An opening week contest in Tampa Bay to take on our old “friend” Tom Brady? Only time will tell, so keep an eye on Russell Street Report all week as we lead up to and break down the NFL schedule announcements!
It wasn’t a completely quiet weekend however, as news dropped Friday that the Ravens were showing interest in former Dolphins and Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry.
The #Ravens are interested in signing former #Browns, #Dolphins possession WR Jarvis Landry, according to @StainbrookNFL

Jarvis Landry to the Ravens makes too much sense…remember Steve Smith to the Ravens. Tough competitive veteran player with a proven track record who would provide much needed leadership for that WR room

Should the Ravens and Landry eventually come to terms, it’s likely a move that will divide the fan base. On the field it’s a no-brainer; it gives Lamar Jackson an experienced veteran at the position (something the Ravens have hit pay dirt on numerous times before) for those tough “gotta have it” moments, who’s also looking to stick it to his old team and would-be interdivisional foe.
The disagreements are likely to come when players like Devin Duvernay and James Proche enter the discussion. Some believe the key to unlocking both of their potential is simply by giving them more reps. Both have shown flashes, and those people may be right, but at the right price a player like Landry would be too good to pass up. For a team that’s in win-now mode, and who just traded their most experienced wide receiver, the Ravens will take all the talented pass catchers they can get.
The team also opened rookie mini-camp over the weekend, where the fresh faces in Baltimore got to have their first taste of donning the purple and black.

A good sign to see was first round pick Kyle Hamilton already donning the green dot on his helmet. As we all know, the green dot helmet is the one into which the coaches communicate the play calls. Now, don’t read too much into this, as it is indeed just rookie camp, but seeing Hamilton already getting a taste of that type of responsibility could very well be a sign of things to come down the road. His overall football knowledge and smarts on the field were two of his biggest strengths at Notre Dame, and him eventually being the quarterback of the defense was likely what the Ravens had in mind when they called his name at pick 14.
Most would probably still expect Chuck Clark to assume those duties come August when training camp officially begins though, right?
This can go one or two ways. It can go Up it can go Down. Either way I’m Prepared !!
— Chuck Clark (@ChuckC36) May 7, 2022
Ah well, who truly knows what to read into in the age of social media anymore? We of course hope Chuck does stick around for this season, and many more after it, but if a scenario opens itself up to where he and the Ravens both benefit from moving on, why not explore it? We’ve got a long time until training camp, and as we’ve seen in the NFL, anything can happen.
Lastly, to truly start your week off on the highest of notes, here’s a picture of two Baltimore legends stylin’ and profilin’ like a couple of Nature Boys.
