New Caitlin Clark rumor emerges days after big announcement
Caitlin Clark fans finally got their wish on Wednesday when Nike officially announced the Indiana Fever star’s signature shoe. Supporters have already marked their calendars for the Oct. 1 release of the highly anticipated Caitlin 1.
Clark debuted the pair the following day. Unfortunately, the Fever lost to Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream, 108-101.
Nevertheless, fans got to see Clark’s eye-catching electric blue signature shoe in action. The two-time All-Star finished with a game-high 26 points (tied with teammate Kelsey Mitchell), to go along with two rebounds, seven assists and two three-pointers.
On Sunday, just days after Nike’s big announcement, a new rumor surfaced about a supposed Christmas edition of the Caitlin 1.

Incidentally, one of the more popular variations of the famed Kobe 6 Proto is the “Grinch.” The bright green pair, which Bryant debuted on Christmas Day in 2010, commemorates the famous fictional Dr. Seuss character.
It appears that Clark is now taking a page out of the Los Angeles Lakers icon’s sneaker playbook. According to a report from JustFreshKicks, a Christmas-themed Nike Caitlin 1 is expected to drop around the upcoming holiday season. Based on the photo of the rumored pair, it appears to resemble the Kobe 6 Proto “Grinch.”

To be clear, Nike has not confirmed the holiday edition of the Catilin 1. However, the above post has already blown up online. As of this writing, the post has amassed close to 300,000 views.
There is already a lot of anticipation ahead of the official release of the Caitlin 1 on Oct. 1, and this latest rumor is only adding to the hype.
