Sophie Cunningham explains big decision away from WNBA
Sophie Cunningham has been a key rotation piece for the Indiana Fever this season.
In 17 games played this year, the 6-foot-1 guard has averaged 9.6 points on 49.1% shooting, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 23.2 minutes per contest. Cunningham is also knocking down 1.4 triples per game on a highly efficient 40.8% clip.
The eight-year veteran has helped the Fever secure a 10-8 record so far this season. They are currently seventh in the standings after losing three out of their last four games.
Cunningham has also been making a lot of moves off the court. Apart from her multiple endorsement deals with brands such as Adidas and Arby’s, the 29-year-old also hosts a highly popular podcast with her reality TV star and long-time pal, West Wilson, entitled “Show Me Something.”
Cunningham also secured a deal with USA Network as a part-time WNBA analyst for the 2025 season.

Fever star Sophie Cunningham expresses excitement over Project B
Cunningham is also expanding her portfolio outside of basketball. She recently ventured into a brand-new basketball league named Project B.
Cunningham invested in Project B as a player-owner, alongside the likes of Kelsey Mitchell, Nneka Ogwumike, Alyssa Thomas and Jewell Loyd, to name a few.
Project B is a global professional basketball league that will operate globally, mirroring a Grand Prix-style touring format across three continents. The league is expected to kick off in November this year, after the WNBA season ends.
Cunningham recently expressed her excitement ahead of Project B’s inaugural season. She explained her motivation for joining the groundbreaking league.
“Put me on Lake Como,” she said in a video posted by Project B on Instagram. “Let’s go to Italy and get on a yacht on Lake Como. That’s where I want to be.
“Seriously, I think just to be engulfed in different cultures and getting to know how other people live, and their food and their style of hospitality. I’m all for that, and I think that’s part of why we’re doing what we’re doing, so we can be two feet in and make an impact on every country we go to.”

For now, however, Cunningham’s focus is on the Fever’s season. It has been an up-and-down campaign for Indiana thus far. This team has shown flashes of brilliance, but Cunningham and Co. have not really established themselves as legitimate title contenders. At least not yet.
The Fever will be back in action on Saturday. They will host the Los Angeles Sparks in a home game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
