Chicago Bears: 3 NFL teams called on Terrion Arnold
It remains to be seen if the Chicago Bears would be willing to take a risk on cornerback Terrion Arnold before training camp.
On Monday, the Detroit Lions released the 2024 first-round pick, but he did not appear on the waiver list until Wednesday, per the league’s transaction. NFL teams will be able to sign him as a free agent on Thursday afternoon, as it isn’t expected for a team to claim him on waivers.
Arnold faces eight felony charges in Florida. He’s expected to seek employment as part of his condition of bond. He was charged on three counts of armed robbery, three counts of kidnapping, one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Per AL.com, Arnold’s lawyer, Harvey Steinberg, is anticipating the cornerback being signed within the next 30 days, as training camp will start for league teams in late July. Steinberg claimed three league teams have expressed interest in Arnold.
“Although Mr. Arnold has been released by the Detroit Lions organization, he already has been contacted by three other NFL clubs regarding his services,” Steinberg wrote.
Steinberg did not reveal which three teams were interested in Arnold.

The Bears could use help in the secondary, especially amid questions with nickelback Kyler Gordon, who missed practices at OTAs with a soft tissue injury. Tyrique Stevenson could use some added competition for a starting job, as he’s struggled in recent seasons.
The Bears selected cornerback Malik Muhammad II out of Texas in the fourth round of this year’s draft.
Arnold was a highly decorated cornerback at Alabama, earning First-team All-American honors in 2023. Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban recently wrote the judge a letter defending Arnold’s character.
With that being said, signing Arnold would be a risky proposition for the Bears. There’s a reason why the Lions cut ties with their first-round pick from two years ago.
