OTL: Is Marlon Humphrey Still a Top CB?
Hello and welcome back, Ravens Flock. Today we react to some new rankings from NFL executives, and have a look back at the craziness that was the Ravens offseason.
Once again, thanks for supporting us and reading as we drag through the low point of the NFL schedule.
The first ranking I want to get to is a player who’s really worn down the patience of much of the fanbase, but who could have a real shot at a bounce back.
Can Marlon Humphrey play at that level again under Minter and Mickens? Theoretically, yes.
But he has to prove a lot on the field to be included in that category.
Year to year league. 2024 was great. 2025 was not. https://t.co/OmrMySCR6J

I think when we think back to the players who struggled the most last year, Marlon Humphrey has got to be near the very top of that list. I give some grace to the corners last year due to the awful circumstance that they were put into by Zach Orr’s bad play calling and coaching combined with one of the worst pass rushes in the league.
Even with that in mind, I don’t think Marlon gets a free pass for how he played because it was awful and I agree with the NFL here. In no way was he a top 10 corner last year and he has to prove himself to be back in such conversations.
Lucky for the organization and Marlon, Jesse Minter runs a scheme similar to Mike MacDonald’s, in which Marlon had some of his best games as a Raven. Minter’s work in LA with the corners gives me confidence he can get the secondary back to a top flight unit. However, it really is all up to Marlon at this point.
Now for a ranking on which I really do disagree with the executives:
A panel of league executives, coaches, & scouts did not have new #Ravens star Trey Hendrickson ranked inside the top 10 edge rusher in the #NFL (via ESPN).
He was listed among the honorable mentions.
Did the voters get it right?

Yeah, no. There is no way Trey Hendrickson isn’t a top 10 Edge and personally I feel like his impact isn’t talked enough about. Very similar to how Marlo got caught in the Orr cycle of stink, I think Trey got caught in the drama of the Bengals. From how they treated him in negotiations, to the one-year deal, to getting hurt, I don’t think last year is an indication of the type of player he is going to be for the Ravens.
I still view the Hendrickson signing as a complete win by EDC.
Now we get to why Hendrickson is here and an overall look at a crazy offseason:
What a wild offseason for the Ravens.
New coaching staff. Trey Hendrickson. A physical draft class. OTAs. Minicamp.
And the story is just beginning…

This offseason was absolutely insane. From firing John Harbaugh and a new coach coming in, then the Crosby situation, mixed with losing a lot of players in free agency, it was off to a really rocky start. I will give EDC credit for rebounding and getting Hendrickson and others here in free agency than turning around and using the picks that would have gone to the Raiders for Crosby and reinvesting them in the trenches with guard and Edge.
But yeah the twist and turns were wild and something that I don’t think we will forget anytime soon.
