Angel Reese-Nikola Jokic news emerges after Dream game
Angel Reese delivered an impressive performance on Thursday against the Los Angeles Sparks. The Atlanta Dream star helped her team to a 124-88 win and kept in step with the Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever for third place in the standings. She finished with 20 points on 9-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc. Reese added 10 rebounds, eight assists and three steals, matching numbers only Nikola Jokic has posted in the NBA.
Reese and the Dream have secured a playoff spot this season. However, they have no time to relax as they are competing for a top three seed with the Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever. The LSU product’s historic game is even more impressive as she doesn’t have a reputation for her efficiency. Critics often target her low field-goal percentage and accuse her of stat-padding to increase her rebounding totals. However, she proved that she can dominate without needing plenty of attempts. If Reese can maintain similar numbers moving forward, her performance will greatly help the Dream. The team will continue to rely heavily on her as the regular season ends, and especially in the playoffs. Atlanta reached the postseason in 2025 but lost in the first round to the Fever.
Reese joined the team in April via a blockbuster trade from the Chicago Sky. This year marks the first time she will see action in the playoffs. With the momentum she and the Dream have, they may make a lot of noise.
