Colston Loveland reacts to unfortunate Bears news
Colston Loveland is busy preparing for the 2026 season. He is participating in the Chicago Bears’ training camp ahead of a campaign where he is projected to play a bigger role. The second-year tight end emerged as one of Caleb Williams’ favorite targets.
He took part in more snaps as the 2025 campaign progressed and started 11 games. Analysts expect Loveland to become the full-time starter ahead of Cole Kmet. The Michigan product recorded 58 receptions for 713 yards and six touchdowns, impressing fans, Ben Johnson and his coaching staff.
Chicago bolstered its roster in the offseason with key veteran additions. The team addressed one of its positions of need by signing Coby Bryant and drafting Dillon Thieneman. The Bears hope that the strengthened defensive back room will create more chances for Williams, Loveland and the offense to score.

Colston Loveland opens up on Bears safety’s injury
Loveland and Chicago witnessed Bryant getting hurt during a practice session. The medical staff carted the one-time Super Bowl champion off the field after he sustained a knee injury. ESPN reported that he could miss 8-10 weeks due to a hyperextension, bone bruise, and small fracture. Loveland admitted that it was tough to see but expressed belief that Bryant will return to 100% soon.
“You know, it always sucks to see,” Loveland said. “It’s part of it. But, you know, he’s tough. He’s a dog. He’s going to be fine. We’re not worried about it, but I don’t know. Leave that to Coach Johnson.”

Bryant won the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks in February. The team brought him in for his championship experience and to mentor its young players. If the reported timeline holds, he could return as early as Week 3.The offense, including Loveland, will need to step up and perform at their best to lessen the pressure on the defense as it deals with Bryant’s injury.
