Caleb Wilson is going to be a star in the NBA.
That is, if all goes according to plan. When the Chicago Bulls selected Wilson fourth overall in the 2026 NBA draft, they surely thought so.
Wilson has all the major components you need in a forward. He’s an athletic freak, works tirelessly on defense, and can finish at the rim with ease. His playmaking and shooting will come with time. After an impressive Summer League performance, he’s already showing signs of improvement in those areas.

Today, the Chicago Bulls hosted media day, as everyone got to know the new faces in the organization. They spoke about the direction of the franchise and their expectations going forward.
This summer, the Bulls hired a new Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, Bryson Graham.
Graham praised Wilson’s work ethic during media day, saying, “If I’m at the office late till 7:30 and I hear music and a ball bouncing, I’d almost bet everything I have it’s going to be Caleb Wilson when I look out the window.”
Bryson spent just one year as second in command with the Atlanta Hawks. The rest of his career has been spent moving up the ranks with the New Orleans Pelicans, before he got hired by the Bulls. His task will be to bring meaningful basketball back to the city of Chicago.

If you had the privilege of watching Caleb Wilson at the University of North Carolina, you know exactly why he was selected fourth overall. He’s already the favorite to take home Rookie of the Year, according to some markets.
His raw talent and athleticism were put on full display. Unfortunately, his freshman year was cut short due to a broken wrist, but he was a force during the games he played. Wilson led the Tar Heels in nearly all major stats and was a highlight waiting to happen each night.
Wilson’s game will need improvement, especially shooting the basketball. He showed encouraging signs in the Summer League, but the regular season is a different animal. How his game will translate to the NBA will be an intriguing storyline to follow, as well as his fit on this current roster. He and Matas Buzelis are similar players who play a similar brand of basketball.
It’ll be up to new head coach Tiago Splitter to find out the best way to use the two.
