Major suprise pops up on Chicago Bears injury report ahead of pivotal NFC North matchup
Friday is officially here, meaning the Chicago Bears are just two days away from their Week 2 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.
After an impressive 59-37 victory in Week 1, the Bears will look to win their second consecutive game of the season. If they do come out victorious on Sunday, it’ll be the first time since 2020 that the team has started 2-0.
It was reported today that Vikings starting QB Kyler Murray will miss the game due to being in the concussion protocol. This clears the way for long-time journeyman Carson Wentz to get the start.
On the other end of the injury report, the Bears seem to be getting healthy. Today’s report showed that everyone practiced in full, after the recent Darnell Wright and D’Andre Swift scares earlier in the week.

Both Swift and Monangai were limited on Thursday, but it seemed it was just a precaution, as many predicted.
All-Pro tackle Darnell Wright also got healthy, avoiding a scare of his own. Another offensive lineman that is trending in the right direction is OT Ozzy Trapilo.
Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune posted on X about Trapilo, stating, “It was a shorter practice in shorts & shells, but another positive development in his comeback. Would expect Braxton Jones to start.”
Ozzy Trapilo getting healthy is a great sign for the Chicago Bears

Trapilo was selected in the 2nd round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The former Boston College Eagle had a strong rookie season, appearing in 14 games and starting six.
About 8 months after a torn patellar tendon, Ozzy Trapilo was a FULL participant in practice today, which is remarkable given the injury. The fact that he could potentially play on Sunday just speaks to the work and effort he’s put into coming back on the field.
In August, head coach Ben Johnson spoke on Trapilo’s recovery.
“He’s another one we’ve talked a lot about, just having a plan in place. The best thing for him, ramping him up. Obviously physically we feel really good about where he’s at, otherwise we wouldn’t have bought him off PUP. Now it’s a race to see how quickly we can rebuild the confidence.” Johnson said to the media.
“It’s going to look different for him than it is anybody else, just in terms of how we continue to integrate him into drills, team drills, things like that. But we felt like this is a good opportunity over the next course of training camp with the padded practices that we’re going to have that gives him a chance to build that confidence back up again.”
Time will tell when Ozzy Trapilo could be back in the starting lineup. His eventual return would make the Bears’ already great offensive line even better.
