Miguel Vargas has taken a massive step forward for the Chicago White Sox in 2026. After hitting 16 home runs and 32 doubles a year ago, he has raised the long ball total to 33 this year, while also adding 31 doubles. Additionally, he’s stolen 20 bases and scored 100 runs.
According to MLB’s Scott Merkin, a 30 home run, 30 double, 20 stolen base, and 100 runs scored stat-line has never occurred by a White Sox player before, making Vargas the only one.

Additional notes from Merkin: Vargas joins Luis Robert Jr. (2023) and Magglio Ordonez (2001) as the only other players to record 30 doubles, 30 home runs, and 20 stolen bases in a season. Both of the others fell just short of 100 runs scored as Robert Jr. had 90 runs in 2023, while Ordonez scored 97 in 2001.
Furthermore, the last White Sox hitters to record at least 100 runs and 30 home runs in a season were Jermaine Dye and Jim Thome in 2006. That season, Dye had 27 doubles and seven stolen bases, while Thome finished with 26 doubles and no stolen bases.
Taken together, Vargas’ season stands out as one of the more well-rounded offensive performances in White Sox history. Not only did he reach 30 doubles, 30 home runs, and 20 stolen bases, but he also became the first White Sox hitter since 2006 to pair 30 home runs with 100 runs scored. The combination of power, speed, and run production makes Vargas’ season quite the accomplishment.
