Angel Reese announces exciting news after move away from WNBA
Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese returned to LSU on Thursday and was honored at Pete Maravich Assembly Center. She announced some exciting news after her move away from the WNBA via her podcast’s Instagram account.
Reese starred for the Tigers from from 2022 to 2024 following her two-year stint with the Maryland Terrapins. She played a key for Kim Mulkey’s team, winning the 2023 national championship. The selection committee named the 6-foot-4 forward NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and she earned Unanimous first-team All-American and SEC Player of the Year honors.
Meanwhile, she and the Dream experienced heartbreak last Saturday. They forced a Game 7 in the WNBA Finals but lost 68-63 to the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center. Reese finished the winner-take-all matchup with seven points on 3-of-7 shooting, along with 12 rebounds and two blocks.

The “Unapologetically Angel” podcast announced that new Reese merchandise is now available, one day after visiting LSU. Shirts with “Tiger Tee,” “I Heart Angel Reese Purple Tee” and “Geaux Sweatshirt” can be purchased on her website.

She enjoyed a highly successful 2026 season despite the finals loss. Reese broke several league records, earned her third straight All-Star nod and won her first Defensive Player of the Year award. She set new marks for most rebounds in a game and a season, as well as the most double-doubles in a single campaign. The 24-year-old then shattered some finals records, further establishing herself as one of the best young players in the WNBA.
Reese and the Dream will have a few months to rest and regroup. They will enter next season hungrier for more success and with their sets sight on getting over the hump. Atlanta will be a dangerous team, especially after getting so close to winning a title.
