A dialectic, about UFOs et cetera

My pal Bryan Sentes and I have been immersed in a colloquy or two spurred by Dvelys’ views about quantum computing, AI, and other distressed opinion that disdains such off UFO topic wanderings.
Bryan looks at topics with an erudite open-mind, particularly UFOs, and you can find his thinking at his blog [skunkworksblog.com] and in comments here.
His latest posting – check it out – gets at the UFO phenomenon in his inimitable way and takes a swipe at believers in quantum computing, AI, and other furturistic esoterica.
I keep telling him that I see his dipping into philosophical musing as pressing flummery on us, to which he wrote, “pfft!” preceded, for the umpteenth time, by a clarification of his approach to dialoguing.
Here’s my take on his views, which represent a dialectical normalcy, as opposed to the what I call a freewheeling splurt of nonsense and crazy talk by me and some of my fellow travelers here. (You know who you are.)
Bryan is locked into the real world, the world that we think we’re part of, the reality that our consciousness tells us exists. (Daniel knows what I’m talking about.)
He lives, writes, and operates as if the world is as he’s perceiving it. Everything is predicated upon that belief. And he supports that position by source material(s) that abet this normal view of existence.
I, and a few others here – Matty, DrDee, Dvelys particularly – seem open to other possibilities. We few believe that existence may be fueled by things under the rubric, paranormality.
And when we delve into that paranormal proclivity, it riles Bryan, who needs to push the logic of his normal world, and it irks my buddy Zoam, who also insists on sensible thinking.
But that sensible and logical thinking is part and parcel of their normal reality whereas the outskirts of “futurian” thought makes up the brunt of our thinking, which is crazy but creative, as I see it.
I’m asking some of you to look at Bryan’s recent posting on quantum computing, AI, and UFOs, and let me know what you think. Am I misreading Bryan? Is he locked into traditional, post-Enlightenment thought? Or is he on top of what and how we should be thinking about UFOs, quantum, AI, and other peripheral matters that spring up here?
I and Dvelys think that quantum computing is a pending reality. Bryan thinks otherwise.
Ron, Jerry, Dominick, and those already mentioned see UFOs as something unique and real. Zoam does not.
Phil thinks that ufologists are the rabble, seeking fame and fortune at any cost to morality or decency.
Theo thinks American ufologists are the problem with ufology.
And so it goes.

What are your views about any of this?
