A new (for me) book that I got (used) for $5, with free shipping

The book is by a Jungian psychotherapist, whose name showed up in a Wikipedia piece I put inside a posting here.

(I hadn’t heard anything about it, but that typical, for me – on the outside looking in.)

It was published in 1982 and is filled with Flying Saucer speculations in the context of “Psychohistory” as Otto Billig’s sub-title suggests.

On page 136, for instance, it has information and “artwork” that indicates my views about the (in)famous Nuremberg/Basel broadsheets are correct – they are “editorial-like” drawings depicting the rabid times in the religious milieu — while some say they are “evidences” of UFO wars in the skies for the years 1561 and 1566, with a few others writing that the broadsheets are drawings of witness weather observations. (They are neither.)

I know the broadsheet discussion has run its course here and you are all bored to hell with it, so skip that part of the book or my postings about the damn sheets.

But the book and the idea that UFOs are a problem to be dealt with via psychotherapy, as Dvelys suggested in a comment here, are grist for debate, by some of us, not all surely but a few who visit here. (Thank you, Dvelys.)

It’s a delightful book, about UFOs, along the line(s) set out by Jung’s treatise on Flying Saucers, by one of his advocates.

Look for it. It doesn’t come cheap. I was lucky to find a good copy, for a few dollars, from a seller on Amazon.

I’ll input some material from it – no, not those damn broadsheet thingies – but some of the better offerings in the book from the brilliant Otto Billig, who is relatively unknown, sadly.
