Mental input/output and UFOs

I’m not going to insert one of my rambling texts on mental processes (consciousness, et cetera) here – Dominick hates that. Besides I plugged my views elsewhere when I reviewed The Failures of Philosophyby Stephen Gaukroger [Princeton University Press] for my Substack account and another blog of mine.
But I do need to note – for José Caravaca fans and others here who are not diminished by non-UFO materials – that the mentality (conscious input) of UFO witnesses and those who are interested in UFOs (researchers, investigators, mavens, and quidnuncs) ranks importantly in the matter: UFOs generally and in toto.
In my pal Caravaca’s “theory” he posits an “external agent” that imposes itself upon those who think they’ve had or are having a UFO encounter.
(I won’t go into his massive hypothesis again here either, except to write that it is one method by which UFOs are experienced.)
For me, each of us – if this reality is as I’m perceiving it – contends with the UFO phenomenon in a unique way. What that way is comes determined by what is in our minds (memory, experiences, collected materials, and cultural effluvia, as José indicates as a major substrate of his ideas).
But psychological and neurological theses impose on UFO sightings (encounters particularly) of every kind, as do outside-the-mind occurrences (maybe radar readings, microwave impositions, electrical impulsives, actual, real UFO sightings, et cetera).
(You know my thinking on schizophrenia: some schizophrenics are actually receiving input from sources outside them. They are actually hearing noises, sounds, talk, and visuals that are thrust upon them, From whence? I’m not sure but have conjectured on this elsewhere and here often.)
People do have hallucinations, delusions, and dementia of various kinds, all of which can and have produced UFO sightings and accounts one can find in the literature.
Yet, there are UFO visitations that are real, actual within the confines of the reality we seem subject to.
What those are – their source – is not just misinterpretations of refined aircraft technology, as early on (ancient and pre-20th century) witness accounts and reports seem to indicate.
There is a phenomenon, one that remains elusive and enigmatic to some of us. This is the thing that captures our time and scrutiny – even conjecture.
Those who visit this blog are among – in my mind – the sensible, rational persons with a proclivity to examine this mysterious, material (actual) phenomenon with an open mind and intelligent sensibility.
Once we exclude the ever-present possibility that some persons are “seeing things” – a few even building fictive scenarios (Strieber, Walton?, Adamski, AA theorists et al.) –that becloud our attempts to understand UFOs, we can continue our efforts to get at the UFO reality that is obvious, palpable and truly intriguing.
