Yesterday (4/20), I was invited to a discussion/debate on Academia.edu by Dr. Douglas Hamp about the idea that God (The Israelite Yahweh) was actually Satan (Enlil).

Just when I thought I had nailed the idea that god/Yahweh was a (grotesque?) human, maybe a Shaman, (for my Substack romp “The Birth of God“) along comes a new idea: God and Satan were one and the same.

This Yahwehian being isn’t the ineffable God of some believers that exists (in many forms and conjectures) but the god of the early Israelites, and in an evolved configuration to today.

Pushing my idea — an unusual being who assumed the epithet God (the word from where still up for grabs) — has required a scour of these books in my collection:

Research, even my slovenly kind, requires extensive work and reading — especially reading, not internet browsing.

And how a topic takes detours and new routes always happens, and has to be paid attention to, as has happened with me, and my idea of how God came about — the human god, not the possible omnipotent God of theologians and philosophers.

(My example applies to those who are investigating UFOs or other paranormal exquisites.)
