Abdel-Haq also urged disparate Islamic factions to unite against what it calls the “Zionist entity.” The Brotherhood’s message underscores a strategic shift in Middle Eastern alliances – positioning Israel’s actions as an existential threat not just to Iran, but to the entire Islamic world. It also comes amid heightened fears of a wider conflict, with the Lebanon-based Hezbollah warning of “disastrous consequences” if Khamenei is assassinated and Iran vowing Israel’s annihilation should the U.S. intervene militarily.
