Tamara Lich, one of the courageous leaders of the Freedom Convoy, has recently announced she is suing the government, the Ottawa Police Service, and various individuals involved in one of her arrests for malicious prosecution and negligent investigation!
She says this arrest was caused by a nationwide arrest warrant which had her flown across the country in leg shackles and thrown in jail for 30 days without bail. During this time she also lost her job. In total, including all her arrests, she spent 49 days in jail.
Tamara is still serving a 12 month house arrest sentence and 6 months of curfew after being found guilty of criminal mischief for her involvement in the Freedom Convoy in early 2022. At the same time, she was found not guilty on four other criminal charges. The government is appealing this sentence, as they want more convictions and a longer sentence.
