Did you learn anything new about camping or preparedness this weekend?

Commenter 2: “I learned that some of my family members need to be better prepared when traveling in the winter…and I will work towards helping them.”

Commenter 3: “Learning about gasification through research about making wood coal for a homemade blacksmithing forge. Downloaded some very good info from who else? FEMA, that’s right. They have a plan for putting out info to people to make wood gas in a petroleum crisis in this country. Published in 1989.”

Commenter 4: “I once again learned that you have to be meticulous if you want to keep your diesel engines(farm tractors) running in cold weather. Especially if you are dependent on that tractor to feed livestock, plow snow, run pto generators, or any of the myriad activities one uses a tractor for. The correct seasonal grade of fuel, and appropriate additives will keep your fuel filters from gelling and freezing and your tractor from crapping out when you need it most.”
