They’re Ba-a-a-a-ck!

Well, actually, they never left.

The UN “Climate Panel” is at it again per this report, this time with one of the panel suggesting that Hurricane Sandy and global warming are connected.  That this association would be made was predictable.  A US climatologist is quoted later as saying “the sea level in New York City is a foot higher than a century ago because of man-made climate change.”  Man made?  Oh, really?

It amuses me that these “new world order” people continue to claim that climate change is the result of human activity, when history shows that the earth has undergone many climate cycles for tens of millions of years, long before human existence. They attribute warming almost solely to carbon dioxide emissions, and their solution is to cap emissions and tax countries that exceed the arbitrary limits they choose to set.  As the member nations’ economies are in the tank and drowning in debt, these geniuses expect sane national leaders to sign on to an “agreement” that will stifle economic growth when it’s most needed.

I submit that the real aim of these UN climate change alarmists, whose ranks, sadly, are joined by many of our own political leaders, is to give governments ever increasing control over all human activity —- what we drive, what we eat, where we live, where we work, size of our family, on and on. Their unstated goal is to cripple or eliminate “evil” capitalism and and to make us all feel guilty for assaulting Mother Earth, thereby gaining control economic growth and reducing (or at least stagnating) standards of living in the developed world. Our US cheerleaders that want to sign on, with a wink and a nod to our own EPA, have essentially declared war on carbon dioxide, a naturally occurring substance emitted by green vegetation and essential to most life forms on earth, naming it as a pollutant that must be controlled and taxed, never mind any negative economic fallout.

Those that want to enact policies to punish western countries economically are doing it for entirely political purposes.   They declare that the cause of climate change is “settled science”,  even when some “scientists” have manipulated study findings to fit their models (remember the climate change scandal uncovered in emails at a British university back in 2009?).  They play on the emotions and ignorance of the vast populace with the assurance of plenty of cover from the majority of the news media. I mean, would anyone actually admit that they want to pollute the air and water, blah blah blah? Just ask the question, “who benefits?”.

To find the answer, follow the power and follow the money.

I digress, but IMO the UN is a completely worthless, corrupt organization that has done little to advance anything of value; has soaked member nations, especially the USA, out of countless billions of dollars; coddles dictators and murderous regimes; looks the other way at atrocities against humanity;  meekly looks on as certain member nations  bully others; and seems committed to confiscate and redistribute wealth from rich nations to poor, all the while enabling it’s hundreds of delegates and officers to lead high-dollar lifestyles.  The US should withdraw and lead the formation of another organization of whose membership would comprise only those countries governed under principles of a democratic constitutional republic.
