Police chief name change leads to TSA confrontation

Police chief Shane Harger, or Braxton Haze, was put on “desk duty” after a confrontation with TSA according to KOB4 in New Mexico. He faced the city council of the village of Jemez Springs to answer for the confrontation.

The confrontation was apparently over a name change which a different name between his boarding pass and drivers license.

The KOB4 Eyewitness News report of yesterday indicated that Harger was still employed. But the report added:

One village councilor accused Harger of whipping the town into a frenzy by saying the council was against him because they put him on desk duty. Councilors said they did it over legal matters.

Another report on the matter from Liberty Roundtable on January 28th paints a different picture.

They report that Harger was ordered to disband the police department which services the village of 252 people. They claim that the harassment stems from the fact that Harger was returning from the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA) Convention held in Las Vegas.

According to the KOB4 report, there were many people at the council meeting in support of the police chief.
