Important Choices in Arkansas – Bruce Westerman

In life as in politics it is up to the citizen to make important decisions every day and many times with just a little information. When faced with these decisions it is very important to know the principles that are important to yourself and are reflected in the decisions you make. When Congressman Tom Cotton decided to run for the US Senate seat held by longtime Obama supporter Mark Pryor I was excited about the opportunity to end the reign of a politician who was more interested in supporting his party then supporting the people of Arkansas.

When Arkansas’s first Conservative House Majority leader in 138 years, Bruce Westerman decided to run for the open Congressional seat I had mixed emotions. I had these emotions because Bruce Westerman was a great leader and a great representative of the people of Arkansas and I wanted him to stay here. But it was for that reason I wanted him to run for higher office. Arkansas needs someone like Bruce Westerman who will stand up to an out of control government and for the people he represents.

As a political activist and radio political commentator I personally watched and followed the entire Arkansas Legislative sessions Bruce Westerman served in and I have to tell you I was impressed. I was impressed by his desire to fix the things that were broken like Arkansas’s ever growing and wasteful budget. I was impressed by his willingness to support and cause others to support sensible conservative principles. But, the thing that most impressed me was Bruce Westerman’s ability to work research and even propose possible solutions to stop Medicaid expansion in Arkansas through Obama care.

I remember when the process began and I was concerned about why he was involved in the process and he told me, “Glenn, I cannot know nor have any input in the process if I do not participate. I must be able to know all of the information available and I must do my best to ensure conservative principles are being considered.”  After much heated debate and very contentious meetings it was time to vote Bruce Westerman gave the following speech http://youtu.be/FwEG2gLSHzs called the 30 Pieces of Silver speech. After listening to that speech I truly believed that Bruce Westerman was and is a Representative of the people.

So why am I writing this? Because the people of Arkansas will be asked to make a choice this election between candidates they do not know and the one candidate that has proven they truly are worthy of their vote. The other candidates are building straw houses with campaign contributions and crony endorsements and they will have some influence on the upcoming election. So now I am asking you to stand up for the man who stood up for you and support Bruce Westerman. He needs more than just your vote. He needs you to contact your friends, he needs you to write letters to the editor, he needs you to contact all of the conservative organizations you belong to and ask them to support Bruce Westerman. If we fail at this task we will fail to elect the change everyone has been working towards in the past decade; electing a true Representative of the People, Bruce Westerman.

In closing, the Westerman campaign knows nothing of this letter or of my support. This was written because of the things I have heard and seen behind the scenes and know if the People will not rally around their Representative then Our Representative will fail.
