Remembering September 10th 2001

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Today is the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 however I want to remember September 10th, 2001. I want to remember what we lost. People 25, 35 years old will never know what America was like before 9/11. We lost our innocence that day.

September 10th, 2001 we could park at the airport and walk with our loved ones through the terminal and sit with them as they waited for their plane. We could kiss them goodbye and watch the plane take off. They didn’t have to take off their shoes or belts or have their bags scanned. They weren’t felt up by a TSA officer or X-rayed. There was no TSA or DHS. There had been planes hijacked in the past but they weren’t flown into buildings. Few, if any, passengers were killed.

A few days earlier I had come home from a trip to Paradise Island with my daughter. It was a birthday present from my daughters. We had had an idyllic time. The water was crystal clear and warm and I never wanted to get out. We met interesting people. We ate fabulous food. We swam with dolphins and fed sharks and stingrays. Our flights to and from were comfortable. I have never been afraid of flying. I loved flying and looking out the window. I was returning to a job I loved, casting movies and I was tan and relaxed.

On September 10th, 2001 there were many, many things Americans could agree on. Most of us on either side of the aisle agreed with the Constitution, Rule of Law, innocent until proven guilty, saying the pledge of allegiance and standing with our hands over our hearts for the national anthem. We believed in family values. That we were a Judeo/Christian country. We believed children should be protected from adult content. That there were two genders and it was illegal for men to be in women’s private spaces and sports. We believed in playing by the rules and that hard work would be rewarded. We were shocked by violence. We could agree to disagree. I worked in Hollywood nearly 30 years, during many elections and talked politics with colleagues. I never made an enemy over politics. In fact, thinking about it, I never knew my husband’s politics until after we were married and there was an election and I didn’t really care.

On September 12th, 2001 everything changed. Airports changed immediately. Planes grounded. Everything changed. Malls shut down, schools were closed, the White House was evacuated. We didn’t know who did this. We didn’t know if more was coming. Who would have ever imagined using commercial airliners filled with passengers as missiles? Our feelings of safety were gone. Our comfortable lives were gone. Now we have to go through metal detectors in public buildings, have our purses examined. We are surveilled. Privacy gone.

We learned who did it. Islamists. We said we’d never forget. But today is the 25th anniversary and many have forgotten. Many schools don’t teach about 9/11. This year New York elected an Islamist as Mayor. We are called Islamophobic if we express concern about the hundreds of thousands of Muslims the Obama and Biden administrations have flown into our country. People with suicidal empathy tell us it’s freedom of religion and we should embrace “refugees”. They are willfully ignorant of international law. Refugees are to go to the nearest country, not fly half way around the world to countries whose cultures and religions clash with theirs.

The media and globalists have successfully made many believe they are the tolerant, inclusive, good, kind people who welcome “the poor, the hungry, those striving to be free” as they usher the fox into the henhouse.
