Motorcycle Insurance Always Required in the EU 

This may not be news for some, but recent legislation in the EU has addressed the question of motorcycle insurance. At one point, riders were expected to carry insurance for their motorcycles whenever they were using bikes. This meant if there was off-season or winter that would make motorcycle riding difficult or impossible, then riders wouldn’t have to carry insurance during that time. This is no longer the case as motorcycle owners alike around the EU are now required to carry motorcycle insurance all year round despite the fact that they may not be riding at all during certain times of the year. 

Motorcycle Insurance in General 

We have motorcycle insurance for the same reasons as we have car insurance. In fact, the two function quite similarly. Both cover liability damages along with several more types of coverage available to broaden rider and motorcycle protection. As previously stated, these coverages are now required all the time, even when the motorcycle is in storage for the off-season. What’s more, there will no longer be a difference between parked vehicles in public areas and ones on the road. Meaning even parked vehicles have to have insurance. 

Where to Get Motorcycle Insurance 

Local and national insurance providers may specialize in motorcycle insurance. Odds are if they have experience in car insurance, then they may deal in motorcycles. As you can imagine, this move will have people paying more for motorcycle insurance. However, as more drivers and motorists take to the roads in the post-pandemic era, this new measure may be in response to that.
