Long Island Game Farm Offers New Birthday Packages

For those looking for a unique birthday experience for their children, parents should look no further than the Long Island Game Farm. The family-friendly destination is currently accepting birthday party reservations for its 2013 season, which begins March 23 and ends October 14.

For 2013, the Game Farm is offering two new birthday packages for children, their families and their friends. (Parties must have at least 15 paying customers — including adults — to be eligible for these packages.) The basic package allows parents to set up their child’s party in one of the Game Farm’s picnic areas and have their child and guests spend the entire day at the zoo for $9.95 per person, plus tax.

For an upgraded package of $25.00 per person (plus tax), the Game Farm will reserve a picnic table in WoodlandGardens for one-and-a-half hours. Each child will receive one carousel ride and one animal cup. An adult accompanying each child will be admitted for free, but additional children are $19.95 each. In addition, the birthday boy or girl will receive a special gift, courtesy of the Game Farm.

Conveniently located at Exit 70 off the Long Island Expressway, children, their friends and adults alike will be able to see and interact with the many animals the Game Farm has to offer.  These include red kangaroos, kinkajous, cougars,Barbados sheep, peacocks, the giraffe and the only lemurs born and bred on Long Island.  The Long Island Game Farm also has various breeds of monkeys, buffalo, colorful parrots, zebras, aoudads, camels, ostrich, alligators and much more.

Party guests can also explore nature trails that lead to places such as “Bambiland,” “The Nursery” and “Old McDonald’s Farmyard,” or take in a ride or animal-themed show.  Additionally, guests can pet, cuddle and — unlike most zoos — feed baby animals such as pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits and ponies. 

The Game Farm has also added the exciting new Pony Experience! While other kids’ birthday parties may feature pony rides, at the Long Island Game Farm, each party (maximum of 12 children) will not only get a ride, but will also be able to meet and greet the ponies and learn all about grooming, brushing, and saddling up. The cost is $150 for approximatelyone-and-a-half hours.

Reservations are required at least one week in advance. Children under the age of three are free. Please note that balloons are not allowed in the park, due to potential danger to the animals.
