Huge Breaking News! New Orleans Breaks Out In Ferguson Protest, 'Who's Next?' (18 PHOTOS)

Hundreds of people in New Orleans took to the streets Thursday in protest of the Ferguson police shooting of unarmed youth Mike Brown this past Saturday.
New Orleans residents and officials have been shocked to see what was estimated as at least hour hundred and maybe as many as one thousand people who seemed to come out of nowhere in protest of Ferguson police killing of Mike Brown.
The crowd marched through the city’s famous French Quarter in a protest without a permit, according to a reporter on Livestream. They shouted loudly with their hands in the air as blacks and whites marched together.
“Hands up! Don’t Shoot! Hands Up Don’t Shoot!” the protesters shouted loudly as they walked with their hands in the air.
The crowd headed to the amphitheater on the Mississippi River across from St. Louis Cathedral. There, they continued shouting loudly in unison with their hands in the air: “Hands up! Don’t shoot!”
“Who’s Next” read one of many signs carried.
The crowd became quiet as the first speaker was introduced, a relation of Mike Brown. She waved a sign as she gave a highly charged presentation at the amphitheater.
There was no sign of police presence.
The crowd again paraded loudly through the French Quarter shouting the same chant, “Hands Up! Don’t Shoot!” with their hands in the air.
Further into the Quarter, they repeatedly yelled, “What do we want? Justice! When do we want it? NOW!”
Then, the hundreds of the demonstrators marched toward the police station in the quarter, still shouting, “Hands up! Don’t shoot!”
There, at the station, they gathered outside for a couple of talks.
“Mike Brown could have been my son,” said one young mother who spoke to the crowd, holding her toddler on her shoulder as she gave a presentation.
Inside the police station, the shouting continued for some time. Police were right behind the counter, Protresters remained on the other side.
Releatedly, the crowd even yelled at the police behind the counter, “Hands up! Don’t shoot!”
They yelled at the officers that they wanted justice – now.
They continued shouting until their talks began. The police officers exercised remarkable restraint. Maybe they were not among those officers trained by the IDF in Israel, as Ferguson police chief Timothy Fitch did.

Even with some of the protesters wearing bandanas covering their faces, the police remained respectful, seemingly quietly observing and listening to the talks.
One after another, New Orleans African Americans presented their stories, their experiences, their fears and their despair.
After the talks inside the New Orleans police station, the crowd peacefully dispersed. They did so without any encouragement, request or demand by New Orleans City Police.
What a difference showing respect to people hurting makes. What a difference demonstrating compassion toward people hurting makes.
Today’s loud and angry marchers parading through the French Quarter, in front of the cathedral, through Lafayette Square and into the police station could have turned deadly — had NOPD provoked it.
A rally is planned at New Orleans City Hall Friday.

I would just point out the difference between the democrat state ran Mo. and the repub ran state of La. The difference being the arrogance displayed by the mo. PD. and La PD.

Yes, there’s been a steady rise in republicanism in Louisiana – mainly since Katrina refugees left never to return due to the horrendous mismanagement that paid handsome rewards to Republican disaster capitalists. The mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu, however, is a democrat.
Like you, I’m certainly not saying one is better than the other because they are actually one in the same and both crooked as the day is long – with rare exceptions.
New Orleans had multiple warnings from the Bush administration to both the mayor who’s currently in prison, and the governor of Louisiana to evacuate. Stop blaming republicans for this democrat blunder.
I was in New Orleans briefly. What surprised me was how the place stank like piss.

Word on the street is that the protestors looted QT because they are the ones that called the police to report shop lifting from suspect. This is what led to the altercation. That is what the graffiti “Snitches got Stiches” is all about.

you are all very lucky that the police left you alone. Do you need a permit to protest? What a joke!!! If you want to protest something and you apply for a permit to protest, who gives you the OK to do that? The people in charge? So they can say no to your protest request and if you then go ahead and protest you are committing an offence and can be arrested, shot, locked up, bashed, abused , humiliated..etc….It is great to see the people taking it to the streets but beware of retaliation. The world is watching. The police didn’t do anything this time…but watch out next time when you protest…good luck. Love ,Peace and Happiness
