Brittany come to Christ

Some years ago, I met a girl named Brittany. Her mother and family were (and are) faithful members of the church I serve. The Sunday before Easter, her mother mentioned how excited she was that Brittany was going to come to the Easter service. Previously, we had shared many prayers and concerns for her daughter, and I was especially glad to see Brittany on Easter Sunday morning.

The week leading up to Ester was difficult. I visited two men who need the Lord, and they both promised to “think about it.” I was discouraged. I was tired.

My Saturday night routine is to pray between 10 PM to midnight. Saturday I felt the burden for three souls, but for some reason Brittany lay heaviest on me. I simply could not get her off my heart. I knew that she needed the salvation only available in Christ Jesus. I prayed. I wept. I did not ask God to save her if it was His will. It is always His will to save! (2 Peter 3:9). I prayed for conviction and brokenness
Sunday morning the cantata was beautiful. The Lord had laid a message on my heart from Luke 24 concerning the burning heart of the Emmaus disciples. I presented the Gospel, as clearly as I knew how and gave the altar call. Many came to the altar; however, on the last stanza my prayers were answered: down came Brittany, weeping with her mother. She was sobbing uncontrollably over her sin.

I asked her one simply question: “Are you ready to get things right with your Jesus? I know for a fact He has been seeking you out.”

She gathered herself and responded positively.

Brittany, her mother, and I bowed at the altar. I led Brittany through the Sinner’s Prayer. It was a long prayer due to all the pausing for tears.

She arose a new woman. She is forgiven. Please pray for her. She is now a disciple. She must walk away now from many things.

My heart is overflowing with joy from the God who still saves souls and answers prayers!
