The United States Secret Service has launched an investigation into a highly specific video broadcast by Iranian state media that explicitly threatens the life of President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump. The three-minute segment, which was released by networks tied to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), marks the first time the 20-year-old has been directly singled out in Tehran’s state-sponsored propaganda campaigns.
The video opens with this “Where to Kill Barron Trump” written in stylized graphics. The broadcast concludes by offering a $10 million reward for insight into his exact location. Narrators in the video claim that Barron is being “fully monitored”. It highlights detailed locations he frequents, including Trump Tower in Manhattan and university dormitories linked to his enrollment at New York University. The footage details his daily routines, online gaming activities, and maps out his Secret Service protective detail to suggest vulnerabilities.
The Secret Service has publicly acknowledged the video. Spokesperson Nate Herring released a statement confirming that the agency investigates anything perceived as a threat toward its protectees. However, due to strict operational security protocols, the agency has declined to comment on specific protective intelligence measures or changes to Barron’s security detail.
This direct threat follows an established pattern of retaliatory rhetoric by the Iranian regime since hostilities with the Trump administration broke out, including the 2020 strike on General Qasem Soleimani and the subsequent conflict beginning in February 2026. Prior to this video, Iranian state media had aired a similar piece targeting First Lady Melania Trump. The latest escalation coincides with the U.S. Treasury Department announcing sweeping new sanctions to economically isolate Iran.
