Jihadi Suicide Bomber In Syria Furthers U.S. Agenda

Smoke rising from Aleppo Central Prison

Aiding U.S.-led intervention to illegally overthrow and control the Syrian government, an allied British citizen is believed to have conducted a suicide bombing Thursday on a government prison, killing over 80 Syrians, according to one research unit. British jihadis operating in northwestern Syria said Abu Suleiman al Britani, drove a vehicle packed with explosives into the government’s Aleppo Central Prison.

US military intervention in Syria is part of a decade-long Pentagon plan to overthrow the Assad government for no other reaon than furthering imperialist globalization, at all costs. That cost includes creating and supprting Islamic terrorists for this end.

A US-led armed strike on Syria remains an ever-present threat to stability in the region. and the world, a threat of violence that American right-wing Christians support, according to reader comments.

After the truck explosion, a three tanks violently attacked the first and second prison towers with about 15 shells, killing five prisoners and injuring 10, according to a source reporting to Al Monitor. Along with the tank attack, “attackers opened fire with heavy machine guns at the prison from six different points, leading to severe damage to the prison building,” reports Al Monitor news.

Monitoring groups claimed the attack enabled up to 300 prisoners to leave the government-controlled  compound, increasing chaos in the area, as United States leaders need to justify to American  Christians and right-wing factions a dire need for all-out war against Syria.

Britani’s role in the attack first emerged on Twitter late Wednesday night.

Shiraz Maher, a senior research fellow at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation at Kings College in London, contacted British citizens known to be in Syria to confirm reports. In one communication with a British jihadi, thought to be associated with Jabhat al Nusra group, he received the response: “Lol, yes, news travels fast. The first British brother!”

The jihadi then claimed a martyrdom video made by al Britani would shortly be posted online. No further details were given about when he travelled to Syria, or where he comes from in the UK. A photograph, however, of a construction truck was posted online, with claims it was the vehicle used by al Britani.

Aleppo Central Prison, that’s been under siege by U.S.-supported rebel groups for months, houses around 4,000 prisoners. It doubles as a military base for President Bashar al Assad’s troops.

Assad’s troops retook most of the complex a day after it was stormed, according the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.  Last November, however, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights posted a story about the fall of the prison, adding Jabhat al-Nusra and Islamic Front gunmen managed to enter the prison. That story, however, turned out to be incorrect.

At least 46 people - 20 soldiers, 21 rebels, and 5 prisoners - are believed to have died in the fighting.  According to Mr Maher, the attack was a significant development in the battle for the prison.

“Real strategic gains were made by the fighters on the ground and a very large part that was due to this suicide bombing,” he said. ”We cannot say for certain this man was a member of Jabhat al Nusra, but they were certainly the force coordinating the attack.

“This indicates there is, at the very least, co-operation between British fighters and the only al Qaeda-endorsed outfit operating on the ground.”

The monitoring work being conducted by the Kings College researchers indicates at least 10 British citizens have been killed fighting for Islamist groups in Syria, two this week.

The fight against President Assad’s government inside Syria recently became entirely dominated by U.S. supported Islamist groups, creating havoc for an all out war on Syria, as the Pentagon has planned for decades. Increasingly, there are reports on frewuent infighting between rival factions.

Syrian government and U.S.-backed rebel forces fighting in Syrian are committing war crimes by using civilian suffering, including blocking access to food, water, and emergency services, to advance their military strategy, according to UN experts.

The prison attacked by revels has around a hundred women; 10 children, some born inside the prison; and some 360 youth between the ages of 15 and 18. The prison housed around 80 Islamic political prisoners, arrested many years ago. It is unknown how many of those are on the outside now.

Al Monitor provides insight into how U.S.-backed Jihadi rebels work in Syria to recruit terrorists against Syria’s government:

In a statement, the Islamic factions declared ‘launching a military campaign against the Syrian forces in Aleppo.’ The Islamic Front and Jabhat al-Nusra had announced launching the battle in Aleppo and called ‘all those present in the outposts to go to the battlefronts or you will be questioned and held accountable. … [We ask] our people in the occupied territories [areas controlled by the Syrian forces] to stay away from the checkpoints and military headquarters of the rafidi [Alawite] militia because we will target them in 24 hours.

Up to 40 British citizen agents are believed to be operating in Syria, in groups with allegiances to Isis and Jabhat al Nusra.

While the anti-war movement attempts to stop the endless chain of violent US-supported illegal wars of aggression, supported by the American Christians and western allies, Professor Michel Chossudovsky delivers a powerful message of unity and resistance in this GRTV feature Interview below.

Aggressor nations in the war on Syria talk about “humanitarian aid” to support the Al Qaeda rebels that the United States and its western allies themselves sent into the country.

But, as Prof. Chossudovsky argues, imperial powers need to be held accountable for their part in fomenting the conflict in Syria, and should be made to pay reparations, including helping refugees who led due to US-backed aggression there.
