Palinesque Rumours at Tea Party Fool Serafin

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Tea Party supporter and local spokesperson Ms Diane Serafin of the Tea Party put the nation on standby for a takeover by Islamists in twenty years.

Ms Serafin said to the New York Times on Friday , ““I learned that in 20 years with the rate of the birth population, we will be overtaken by Islam.”

“These fears are unfounded,” said Mr Harry Fenton, a British researcher and writer.   Fenton says the blame for the error lays squarely with Ms Serafin’s teacher.  ” Whoever taught Ms Serafin should be sacked as an educator because her maths don’t add up and her research is total rubbish.”

Fenton was sympathetic and criticised her tutor. “I feel sorry for her. It is simply amazing that a teacher at a tea party could so badly instruct Ms Serafin in the basics of arithmetic and research.”

The US population is around 307 million people, claims Fenton, of which around 8 million are Muslims. “The population of American is growing at about 0.92% a year.”  He admitted her claim is mathematically possible but says it is improbable.  ”The Muslim population could become the majority in say 22 years but to do that they’d have to breed twenty times faster than the rest of the population.”

To achieve such rapid population growth Fenton said Muslim two parent families would need to produce family units well above the national average of 1.89 children. “Two parent Muslim family would have to produce around 39 children each between now and 2032 and that’s just not possible.”

Ms Serafin has nothing to worry about from breeding Muslims, says Fenton, but “she needs to get a new teacher.”

Claiming some other Tea Party research was flawed, he speculates if Ms Serafin may have used the same researcher as her colleague, Mrs Sarah Palin. Fenton said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if they use the same [researcher].  The stuff Mrs Palin said about the British physicist Stephen Hawkin being dead if he’d been treated by the NHS [UK's government sponsored National Health Service] was utter garbage.  He’s always been treated by the NHS, never by private medicine.”

Fenton said he has written to Ms Serafin to point out her error but at the time of going to press, Ms Serafin had not replied.

Since publication Ms Serafin did reply to Fenton, saying she had been in error and that the majority of the population would be Muslim in 17 years, not 20, and she offered a link to a video from which she collected her information.  cms.m1is.com/video.aspx?mid=649a64be-6545-495e-8d82-2da25ea7c2d9

Commenting on the video, Fenton was disparaging. “It doesn’t stack up to some solid Government statistics and at least one good academic study by a British [Leeds] University about the situation that covers Muslim population growth in Britain.”

Fenton offered some examples. “For start, what the video claims about the German government saying they were going to become a Muslim state. Rubbish.  I checked and they didn’t say anything of the sort. They there was some wild claim about the Muslim birth date in France.  How do they know that when the French [government] don’t collect data based on religion?”

He added that he had written back to Mrs Serafin with some advice. “I’ve told her she needs to check the data sources for that video. I think someone’s out to embarrass people like Diana Serafin by feeding them bad information.”
