It’s pearls like this video that make me come back to BIN.
Outstanding presentation by an engineer that does, and has been doing BRIDGE DESIGN!
He reflected exactly comments I made on other videos of this bridge collapse, which noted the near complete lack of Bridge Protection System, which I had seen called “Barrier Islands” around the bridge supports, but this engineer called Daulphins or Fender Systems.
He does not discuss the actual collapse to much, but does an outstanding job of covering the inadequacies of this bridges protection system, and similar events in the past, as well as what should have been emplaced retroactively here but wasn’t.
