Make time to walk the streets of the beautiful historic city center and enjoy picturesque canals. A must-see is Royal Delft porcelain factory – the last remaining delftware factory from the 17th century that has been active for over 350 years. And make sure to find the “Blue Heart of Delft – a charming heart-shaped sculpture representing the excellence in blue pottery.

Keukenhof

Holland is also known as a land of tulips. The best prove to it is Keukenhof – one of the largest flower gardens of the world. Plan your visit for the end of April or the beginning of May and you will get a chance to see 32 hectares of blooming tulips.

Hague

Hague is another unique and atmospheric Dutch city. It is the home of Binnenhof – a complex of government buildings including world’s oldest house of Parliament still in use. It stands on the lake and looks like a floating castle. The city has many parks. Located near North Sea coastline there is access to dunes and piers, including Scheveningen Pier, which is the largest pier in the Netherlands that has a 60 m viewpoint tower. While in Hague you should also try the Dutch raw herring from one of the street stands.

Alkmaar

Holland and cheese are inseparable. Visit Dutch city of Alkmaar that is famous for holding an old-fashioned cheese market every Friday from early April to early September. This event is an impressive spectacle that demonstrates tourists how cheese markets worked in the past. Actors dress up and perform the traditional cheese weighing and auctioning.
