Methane Gas Leak At School, Paramedics Treating Students On Scene

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Emergency crews descended on Quail Hollow Middle School in south Charlotte Wednesday in response to reports of people getting sick outside.

Paramedics are responding to a reported gas leak in the area, they told Channel 9.

MEDIC said they treated 11 patients on the scene, and that so far, no one has been taken to the hospital.

The Charlotte Fire Department also responded to the scene, but authorities say they nobody has been able to find a leak at the school in the 2900 block of Smithfield Church Road.

CMS officials said initially four students complained of getting sick near the football field.

Emergency crews could be seen staging at the middle school from Chopper 9.

The South Carolina methane gas threat comes as a New Jersey township Ewing is still in shock after a gas explosion killed one resident, injured seven workers, some of who remain in hospital being treated and destroyed dozens of homes Tuesday.
