Pilot Reveals Malaysian Plane: 'No Further Looking'

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Ten days of the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 have spawned speculations regarding its passengers, pilots, ground crew, geopolitics and hijacking scenarios. Today, ten days later, using known data, a seasoned pilot provides on Google+, picked up by Wired Magazine, the most logical, albeit devastating, theory regarding where the plane is.

13,000-foot Runway at Pulau Langkawi

We know the basic MH370 story: A loaded Boeing 777 departed on a hot midnight from Kuala Lumpur, headed to Beijing. Approximately one hour out, across the gulf toward Vietnam, the plane’s transponder and secondary radar tracking were turned off.

Anyone following the story knows the Malaysian military radar tracked the plane on a southwesterly course back across Malay Peninsula into the Strait of Malacca. Malaysians heard it along its way back.

Transponders/Communications Loss ‘Perfect Sense’

The left turn is the key to Chris Goodfellow, with 20 years experience as a Canadian Class-1 instrumented-rated pilot for multi-engine planes.

Capt. Zaharie Ahmad Shah, a well-loved human rights defender, was a very experienced senior captain with 18,000 hours of flight time.

“We old pilots were drilled to know what is the closest airport of safe harbor while in cruise,” says Chris Goodfellow. ”Airports behind us, airports abeam us, and airports ahead of us. They’re always in our head. Always.

“If something happens, you don’t want to be thinking about what are you going to do–you already know what you are going to do. When I saw that left turn with a direct heading, I instinctively knew he was heading for an airport.”

Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah was flying a direct route to Palau Langkawi, a 13,000-foot airstrip with an approach over water and no obstacles, Goodfellow says.

He did not turn back to Kuala Lumpur because he knew that terrain was hostile: 8,000-foot ridges to cross. He knew he was closer to Langkawi.  [See this airport on Google Earth.]

Goodfellow says that Captain Shah did all the right things when confronted by a major event onboard.

“For me, the loss of transponders and communications makes perfect sense in a fire,” Goodfellow says. “And there most likely was an electrical fire. In the case of a fire, the first response is to pull the main busses and restore circuits one by one until you have isolated the bad one.

“If they pulled the busses, the plane would go silent. It probably was a serious event and the flight crew was occupied with controlling the plane and trying to fight the fire. Aviate, navigate, and lastly, communicate is the mantra in such situations.”

Two Types of Fires, One Incapacitating Type of Smoke

One type of fire is electrical – not as fast and furious, with or without incapacitating smoke. Goodfellow shows how a fire explains every aspect known about MH370 and its capable pilot. One possibility he says is an overheat on one of the front landing gear tires, it blew on takeoff and started slowly burning.

“Yes, this happens with underinflated tires,” Goodfellow says. “Remember: Heavy plane, hot night, sea level, long-run takeoff. There was a well known accident in Nigeria of a DC8 that had a landing gear fire on takeoff. Once going, a tire fire would produce horrific, incapacitating smoke.

Also remember: massive infernos have blazed across the region. Fire and smoke in the entire region has been so severe, major airports have since been closed. [See: Deborah Dupré, MH370 Plane Search Region Infernos Close Int’l Airports, Before It's News]

“Yes, pilots have access to oxygen masks, but this is a no-no with fire. Most have access to a smoke hood with a filter, but this will last only a few minutes depending on the smoke level. (I used to carry one in my flight bag, and I still carry one in my briefcase when I fly.)

“What I think happened is the flight crew was overcome by smoke and the plane continued on the heading, probably on George (autopilot), until it ran out of fuel or the fire destroyed the control surfaces and it crashed.

Tragically, Goodfellow says MH370 would be found along that route and “looking elsewhere is pointless.”

He says the last words from MH370,  “good night,” strongly indicates all was OK on the flight deck as far as the crew knew at that time.

“Remember, there are many ways a pilot can communicate distress. A hijack code or even transponder code off by one digit would alert ATC that something was wrong. Every good pilot knows keying an SOS over the mike always is an option. Even three short clicks would raise an alert.

He says, unknown to the pilots at that point, things were probably in the process of going wrong.

Evidently the ACARS went inoperative some time before. Disabling the ACARS is difficult and leads Goodfellow to believe more in an electrical problem or an electrical fire than a manual shutdown.

“I suggest the pilots probably were not aware ACARS was not transmitting,” he says.

As for the reports of altitude fluctuations, given this was “not transponder-generated data but primary radar at maybe 200 miles, the azimuth readings can be affected by a lot of atmospherics and I would not have high confidence in this being totally reliable.”

Goodfellow says that if the pilot ascended to 45,000 feet in a last-ditch effort to quell a fire by seeking the lowest level of oxygen, that would be an acceptable scenario.

“At 45,000 feet, it would be tough to keep this aircraft stable, as the flight envelope is very narrow and loss of control in a stall is entirely possible. The aircraft is at the top of its operational ceiling.

The reported rapid rates of descent could have been generated by a stall, followed by a recovery at 25,000 feet. The pilot may even have been diving to extinguish flames.

He says going to 45,000 feet in a hijack scenario doesn’t make any good sense to him.

Additional Flying Time

When departing Kuala Lumpur, MH370 had fuel to get to Beijing, an alternate destination, probably Shanghai, plus 45 minutes: approximately 8 hours.

He burned about one quarter of it the first hour with takeoff and climbing to cruise.

When turning toward Langkawi airport, Capt. Shah would have approximately 6 hours worth of fuel, correlating with the Inmarsat data pings received until fuel exhaustion.

Aircraft Fire Demands One Thing: Get The Machine On The Ground ASAP.

The remaining fuel flight time confirms the crew was tragically incapacitated and the flight continued deep into the south Indian Ocean.

Human Rights Defender, Malaysia Airlines Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah

“Capt. Zaharie Ahmad Shah was a hero struggling with an impossible situation trying to get that plane to Langkawi,” Goodfellow said.

“There is no doubt in my mind. That’s the reason for the turn and direct route.”

My sympathy and prayers even stronger today for survivors. I’d hoped, like everyone, and tried to find a way to justify that hope. If my search harmed in any way any individual involved in this unprecedented humanitarian crisis, I offer humble but sincere apologies.

      • hoby

Sorry Deborah, usually I think you’re right on target, but I think this article from Wired is disinfo. The scenario described would be very likely if there had truly been an emergency situation or accident.

However, the plane was flying for FOUR hours after communications were cut. (1), (2)

That indicates, NOT an emergency landing at the nearest airport, but an intentional effort to evade tracking, in order to land at a pre-determined (and secret) location. The available info suggests that the location is Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, a military base that is about 5,000 miles south of the Ukraine. Well within the range of a Boeing 777.

Best guess: the plane will be sent to the Ukraine with a nuke to be detonated above the Ukraine/Crimea for an EMP. That gives Russia the excuse to retaliate against the U.S. with an EMP strike and/or a full nuclear strike. And Darth Cheney has been warning us of an “EMP strike soon.” (3) Lights out, collapse, chaos, martial law, banksters’ global economic reset, and NWO. Order out of chaos.

This is all a bankster charade. Both the U.S. and Russia are playing on the same team – the banksters’ team.

        • Paveway IV

Diego Garcia does not ‘suspend flights’ – ever.

Diego Garcia is a military base used only by the military. Military contract passenger flights (mil personnel only) transiting that part of the Indian Ocean have plenty of fuel – they don’t *need* to land there. They *may* land there to pick up or drop off cargo/military personnel, but won’t if there’s no reason to.

The base is too tiny to have any dedicated air transport service. Everything and everybody gets to/from Diego Garcia by hitching a ride on other military cargo/passenger flights. All of those flights originate and terminate somewhere else. Diego Garcia needs to tell base personnel when those flights are available and where they’re going.

The military only contracts out passenger jets worldwide when it has a certain number of people that need to be moved. They’re not scheduled in the sense of “Every Tuesday at 3:00 from a to b”. It’s more like “200 seats on March 21st from Yakota AFB, Japan through Singapore to Bahrain”. If the military finds out two days before the flight that six seats will be empty, they tell Diego Garcia in case someone at the base needs to go to Bahrain. There may be days with several flights at DG. There may be days with a lot of flights but no spare seats, so they don’t schedule a stop at DG. Some days just there’s just no flights at all. DG is in the middle of nowhere, not on some well-traveled airline corridor.

When DG says “No scheduled flights for the next 72 hours,” it means either none will overfly DG or the ones that are overflying have no extra space. DG schedules nothing – they’re simply passing along flight data the Air Force has transmitted to them. The Air Force could divert a flight there in an emergency, but DG certainly doesn’t *need* daily flights for any reason. They may go days without ever seeing an aircraft (besides their own B-52s).

        • Paveway IV

That was in response to your implication that the “No scheduled flights” notice was somehow suspicious, hoby. Everyone at that base can see and hear when flights come and go, so there’s no keeping secrets from the military stationed there. Closing the airfield would be useless to ‘hide’ anything. Every nation with satellites could see a 777 sitting on the ramp. If they put it in a hangar, then scheduled flights would never see it anyways.

I’ll offer no speculation on whether the 777 was headed there or not. The pilot’s flight sim isn’t much proof of anything – it’s not like you load airports in one at a time. He probably had several hundred airports ‘programmed’ in because that’s the way they sell the sim software. The Feds are trying to determine if he actually *ran* the sim for the Diego Garcia airport. Even then, I wouldn’t think it’s a big deal. No commercial pilot is going to run his sim over and over again for the few airports they are already familiar with. Boring. He probably landed his 777 sim on an ice runway in Antarctica and a dirt airstrip in Australia’s outback, too.

        • hoby

          @Paveway IV

One of the IBM engineers on the hijacked plane, Philip Wood, managed to call out from Diego Garcia military base. He was blindfolded but his hands were free, and he used voice commands to send out the info.

          /alternative/2014/03/hijacked-ibm-engineer-successfully-dialed-out-of-diego-garcia-2928892.html

So regardless of what you’ve stated, MH370 is now CONFIRMED as being at Diego Garcia.

          Case closed.

    • klikmaus

The biggest problem with this theory is…. where is the debris? If the plane had in fact made a water landing good enough to keep the plane intact, there would be survivors would have been found on open water. Had the aircraft crashed…. debris floating possibly oil…. if fire there would have been smoke. All of this is not in parallel with the facts and lack of evidence we have today. MH370 LANDED. ON AN AIRSTRIP. Unfortunate as it is, this theory is more of a smoke screen than possibility of outcome. Too much disinformation and conflicting reports to be a simple accident.

      • Deborah Dupre

The depth of the Indian Ocean, 26,401′ (8,047 m) and disintegration could prevent ever finding debris. Landed on an airstrip? There’s no evidence of that, unfortunately, only hoped.

        • anonymoustache

There is oil and A LOT of floating seats when one of those “disintegrates”.
The seats function as life preservers.

        • anonymoustache

          Also-
those aircraft have numerous means and alerts for monitoring oxygen, smoke and carbon monoxide onboard.

When all this first began happening…
he never said a word to ATC?

    • paul brown

This is still speculation, although the possibility of an electronics disruption had also occurred to me. I agree there should be some floating debris if it crashed in the Indian Ocean, but it’s a large area to search. Search they must, until the plane is found, intact or destroyed.

      • Deborah Dupre

Thanks, Paul. Note: The US Navy has already withdrawn its SAR ships saying it’s too great of an area.

        • ElOregonian

Sorry. This whole story stinks to high heaven! For one, the phone calls ringing through. Two, those engines were manufactured by Rolls-Royce and were equipted with a transponder system that pings back to the manufacture letting them know the status of the engines and apparently they relayed back that all systems were operating normal even after the aircraft’s transponders were “Shut off”. The most likely senario is that the airline was diverted to Diego Garcia and was lodged subterraneously where the assets were taken in the course of preparing for the incoming space debri’s/Asteriods and subsequent violent earthquakes caused by the increased sunspot activity.

Good luck, pray to the Father, and prepare for the time to come. God bless you all. out.

        • Paveway IV

          Phone call ringing already debunked.

Rolls Royce engines have a data management unit that collects data and stores it whenever the engines are running. That unit can be programmed to send *some* of that data from the plane to RR. On the 777, those specific reports would have been sent after takeoff (it was), at the top of climb (TOC – it was) and after landing (never sent). Rolls Royce said they do not program real-time reports for Malay Air engines during normal cruise – none were generated nor sent after TOC. It’s easier and cheaper to collect the data and generate a report after landing.

Rolls Royce does not have satellite equipment on an aircraft – it can use the aircraft’s existing Inmarsat sat phone. The first two reports went over UHF radio as expected, not the sat phone. The sat phone connection would have never been used by the engines on this flight – the three expected reports are generated at or near the airport and sent over radio.

The aircraft sat phone has the equivalent of a SIM chip and IMEI code and periodically advertises its presence to any satellite that can hear it. The satellites figure out which one ‘owns’ that sat phone at the moment, just like cell phone towers figure out which one ‘owns’ your cell phone connection at any given time. That “I’m here / I will service you if someone calls you” notification is once every hour for Inmarsat equipment. This happens automatically and has nothing to do with an actual call. Your cell phone does this repeatedly every half-hour if it’s turned on whether you’re using it or not.

Inmarsat told the airlines that the Inmarsat equipment was performing it’s normal hourly service polling for a few hours. It does that even if nobody is using sat phone service and has absolutely nothing to do with Rolls Royce reporting. RR reporting is just another sat phone call as far as Inmarsat is concerned and RR did NOT try to make any calls.

No group or country could have pulled this off without the worldwide US spy network finding out about it. I think the Americans took it and most of the people on board have been murdered, and the next we’ll know of this plane…even it is denied it is the plane…will be crashed into a chosen target, carrying some kind of WMD, with the intention of blaming somebody else.

According to Veterans Today, four days after the plane’s disappearance there was an exercise involving the South Carolina National Guard, which had fighters escorting a commercial jet as it crossed into the US coast from the Atlantic.

      • Deborah Dupre

I agree the worldwide spy network knows. Mr. Goodfellow’s analysis, however, is most solid of all. Despite that, I hope its wrong and there’s a happy ending. Life is too short on those these days.

    • Paul Gilbert

again with this theory is there was 239 on the plane but not one made a call to say the plane is going down ? even if the plane crashed again no smoke or debris if someone did servive they would start a fire or some would still use a mobile remember everyone as a mobile just about so 239 mobiles laptops too, but very strange ?

      • Deborah Dupre

Lights could have been out and passengers asleep? It was after midnight. If you’re correct, NSA has a lot more splainin’ to do. It has logged every single call and claims worse than than that. Why can’t it help when need for humanitarian reasons – what it’s supposed to be doing anyway if it’s for our protection… See Washington Blog’s story just today about it’s phone data: http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2014/03/nsa-recorded-every-single-call-one-country-country-america.html Thank you.

      • Paveway IV

Nobody in the aircraft would have been able to get any kind of a cell tower signal that far away from land and that high in the air (at the time of the Malay radar’s claimed turn/drop). Some of the phones may have found sporadic cell signals again as they were passing back over Malaysia – if that’s what happened. The Malaysians should have checked with the cell phone providers and know that specifically by now – they never mentioned the results. The ‘ghost ringing’ from inbound calls is meaningless – all cell phone providers handle that differently. If the cell phone providers there don’t find any of the SIMs or IMEIs registered at any towers in their systems that night, then nobody could have connected.

        • Deborah Dupre

How about if they flew very low, as data and eyewitnesses say? If they had access or were free to use their phones, they could have. Unfortunately, it seems those conditions prevented phone use?

    • truthzilla

Every inch of the earth is monitored in real time…every object is observed especially aircraft and ground vehicles. Whatever happened to that plane, many people in the know do know…Why and where are yet to be seen…The idea that 20 technicians from a Defense industry financed company involved in making Aircraft disappear being “conveniently” on a plane that disappears is dubious to be sure…

      • Deborah Dupre

Thank you for your comment. Yes, it’s all monitored – and yes, maybe convenient. I put the intel workers out there in hopes it might help. And maybe it did or will down the road in terms of illegal surveillance. However, the fact there were massive infernos in the region that went unreported in relation to the missing plane – well maybe except for my article linked above, today, I have lost most hope regarding this crisis.

    • Fred Farkle

This is a very probable scenario. Fire is the one thing where time is critical and unfortunately a long flight out over the water doesn’t leave you with any good choices. I would hope that there are ways to communicate in such an emergency (portable radios?) but don’t know enough about modern planes to say.

The lack of debris floating around does make me wonder about this scenario- I know its a big area, but there are also a lot of folks in the world and quite a bit of seafarers.

    • Jimstonefreelance

I worked for the NSA in intelligence and will call this what it is – a desperate attempt to patch the credibility of America back together. The fact that you are pushing and supporting this destroys your credibility, nothing at all in the world would be wanted more by American intelligence than to put this particular genie back in the bottle.

2 missing points – the plane had to have landed intact, because the engines uplink to satellite upon landing to report maintenance status to Boeing and THEY DID, which proves this plane landed safely, AND,

ANYWHERE this plane landed, the cell phones could have connected, there are no major runways far enough away from cell towers to prevent this from happening. So the NSA knows where they are, WHY THE SILENCE.

So this report is either misguided or a lie, and Boeing themselves gave the CHECK MATE.

      • Deborah Dupre

Thank you very much, Jim, for shaking me back into another reality that I’d thought all along until today.
Regardless – I totally agree NSA has known all along.

What about the timing Goodfellow explains?
Would you please email me, Jim: [email protected] Thanks again.

      • Stēkō

        Jim;

There is an old B-52 base in Thailand, U-tapao, is this also worth looking into?

Also I’ve been hearing of ” photoshopped Geospatial Satilite imagery ” from one particular landing strip in that neck of the woods, but the name escapes me as I happened to over hear a conversation about it and wasnt able to note it on paper quick eneough.I believe it started with an S and was assuredly Asian sounding.

Have you heard of either of these two things yet ?

    • Gazinbali

NO NO NOOOO Come on.. we all know this plane was hijacked by radical right wing fanatic Alien Antichrists and was sucked out of the sky by a UFO Mother ship.. its going to re materialise and crash into the Whitehouse as part of the NWO plans to destabilize the world economy and the Aliens take over the planet.. Hey.. I thought you knew that.. this fire idea..is just another False Flag smokescreen… Bwaaa haaa haaa….

My condolences to the familys and friends of those who trajically lost their lives on this Flight..

      • Deborah Dupre

Thank you Gazinball. If this tragic account true, the sooner we break denial, grieve and try to continue what we have left in this sorry world, the better we’ll be. I cannot imagine the suffering of all the families and other surviving loved ones.

I think he is a bit off. This link below sounds a whole lot more plausible.

      /international/2014/03/mh370-pilots-simulator-had-diego-garcia-landing-programmed-in-2479048.html

    • Gazinbali

Im actually going for this at the moment..

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (GRU) on Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is stating today that within 24-hours of this aircrafts “diversion” to the highly secretive Indian Ocean US military base located on the Diego Garcia atoll, no less than four flights, within the past week, containing top American and Chinese disease scientists and experts have, likewise, been flown to there.
The GRU had previously notified China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS) of its suspicions regarding this flight due its containing a “highly suspicious” cargo that had been offloaded in the Republic of Seychelles from the US-flagged container ship MV Maersk Alabama.

Diego Garcia as a designated ETOPS emergency landing site for flight planning purposes of commercial airliners transversing the Indian Ocean, and as one of 33 emergency landing sites worldwide for the NASA Space Shuttle, it is “inconceivable” that any type of aircraft, let alone Flight 370, can fly anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere without being tracked, monitored and recorded in totality.

Ps for those posting Looooong urls.. try goo.gl. Then you can also see how many people clicked on your link.

    • Hawbs

i really liked your past stories, deb, but this one i’m not so sure. i really hate the misleading headline. this one just doesn’t add up. thanks for doing your best for us anyway. may peace be with you.

      • Deborah Dupre

Thanks. I agree, but felt need to report it. I see it now as a decoy, something the US military and CIA are good at having us participate in doing. Dang. Got me, too. Sorry and thank you again for your well wishes.

    • JCisJD

“Today, ten days later, using known data”

With respect this is Data we have been told its not “Known” only in the sense that we have been given it

As for fire on board I would agree that seems the most logical given the data we have been given.

We do though seem to have some “eternal” reports / eyewitness accounts connected to phones, fire in the sky and low level flying by a large civil airliner (with what could be Malaysian airlines markings) flying over the Maldives.

This is still wide open in my eyes.

A Scenario; April 16th; Former Malaysia missing plane, now with Iranian paintwork drops a Nuclear bomb high over the United States. The high amount of Gamma rays released causes massive failure of electrical transformers. The power grid fails all over North America. Power estimated to be out for 18 months at best. Shops already looted. Generators, dried beans, lentils, rice & packeted food most sought after. Fishing rods are traded for gold rings. Nuclear plants have only enough backup diesel for the generators to keep the reactors cool for 2 weeks only. Riots & shootings abundant. People form communities for safety. Pandemics break out in cities. People not already left now cannot. Servicemen refuse to turn up for duty, instead take care of their families. The elite are already underground. Massive explosions occur deep underground from the worsening Yellowstone Caldera. Groups of people use bulldozers to seal off the entrances.

Has a list of passengers been released yet?

    • Tsuprez

The real victims are the families of crew and passengers of MH-370. Without proper evidence we cannot just assume or disprove, we need the facts. All options are on the table until the black-box is found.

Parachute’s remain paramount to space and aerial flight..

Its a wonder not all aeroplanes carry parachutes for the passenger… should be a standard procedure.

    • Alan

should be taught to use parachutes as a kid…. every child in the world should attain this knowledge.

    • DesertFalcon
