Bloggers, repetition can be a good thing
By saying that repetition can be good for bloggers, I did not mean that you can write the same thing over and over again. That’s stupid.
This is the most frustrating thing that a blogger and a reader can go through. I try different themes and styles of writing from time to time. It helps me keep things safe.
Bloggers love repetition?
That’s right. You might be thinking how bloggers like “Problogger” can be called repetitive. The point that you are missing here is: “how can we write unique content for years?”
It’s not possible to be a unique writer forever. You are bound to hit the wall some time. The key is to know that you are going into a repetitive period now.
To many bloggers take a long time to understand that they are repeating the same thing. My readers gave me some ‘shocking’ comments that made me realize how repetitive I was.
How can we use this repetitiveness?
There is no easy way for beginner bloggers. If you have been blogging for sometime, then you can do something useful with repetition.
HOW? Just go through your old archives. You must know that the old posts you will GENERATE A LOT OF PAGEVIEWS. You can use the keywords, news covered during the early days of blogging and expand old ideas.
Think of this as improvisation. You are improvising your old concepts and ideas and use it to present something more updated and fresh.
I do that all the time.
You can integrate old posts and create a sort of story about a particular concept that you focused on the earlier stages of your blog.
Do not try to be ‘un-repetitive!’ Unless you have a horde of guest bloggers, you’ll surely feel some sort of “blogger’s block.”
