TVT MESH The ignored murder and rape of thousands of women

Sitting here writing this story is something I never dreamed I would be doing but someone has to do it! To start out I want  to introduce myself, I am David Sawyer. Before my wife had a simple minimal invasive procedure done I was just a Handyman, a Husband and a Dad. Well all of that changed nearly 3 years ago when my life was turned upside down thrashing me into the horrific need of trying to save my wife’s’ life. After much lost sleep and hundreds of hours of research I discovered the problem was the product she just had put in her called a TVT Bladder sling. Upon realizing it was poisoning her not to mention it was literally coming out of her through her vagina we next set out on the mission of getting the product removed. Boy oh Boy was that a surprise!

     We learned we were unknowingly victimized lied to and thrown into what would be the ruin of life as we knew it. I am not going to go into the gory details 6 procedures and surgeries including being told she was crazy, she was reading too much, and over 25 visits to various emergency rooms and finally having to travel to the other side of the state to get a portion of the product taken out of her since it is put in as a permanent device meaning it isn’t designed or meant to be removed another fact we were never told. During and since that time we learned that we were not alone and discovered there are thousands of women and couples going through the exact same thing with no where to turn.

    We have been yelling, kicking, begging and screaming for help for these women as well as trying to get them to stop using these horrific products and to this day hundreds are being implanted daily. Being a man that was taught to protect women I was inspired to start a nonprofit organization to try and get these women some help and answers. The FDA has been aware of these issues for many years and yet is allowing this to continue. There have been a couple news bulletins put out by them and they ordered the companies to produce studies giving them I believe 30 days to do so and that was back in March of 2012. To date no studies have been released, there have been several thousand adverse event reports filed with the FDA and last I was told around 20 confirmed deaths. It baffles me why such an unjust thing is being allowed by an organization (THE FDA) which is there to protect us.

     There is so many reasons that this device should not be used its not just a flaw. The product has dozens of side affects such as erosion, infection, chemical poisoning, nerve damage, perforated organs, loss of bodily functions, and even death. We also have formed a support group on Facebook and the horror stories and issues posted in there brings tears to my eyes almost daily leaving me feel so helpless! There are many doctors getting rich from this as they are not being honest with women telling them lies like “we only use the safe mesh”. The doctors never tell them the facts such as there is very few doctors who can remove it if you do have problems (less than a dozen we know of worldwide). 

    The all too common scenario goes like this: First they have a minor leaking problem and they go have this quick fix minimal invasive surgery, From there many never return to their jobs due to the instant pain, the infections, and numerous other issues. Next they lose their jobs because of the sickness, Then poof there goes the health insurance leaving them no where to turn to get the medical treatment they need. Of course there is no urge or desire for sex so poof there goes their husband and even kids if they are not able to care for them. Now here these women are no one to listen to them or support them and poof there goes the house……Now what? Well they are left moving in with someone, selling everything they own or even ending up dead because of suicide or infection with no treatment!

   Doesn’t this sound almost too horrific to be true and to be happening??? I think so too but it is and its not just in the USA its all over the world! My wife and I have been on the news program America Now we have been on our local news. Been in newspapers and radio shows but its like no one is listening! Ladies in our group have wrote hundreds if not thousands of letters to congress, talk shows, news channels, and the issue is ignored. I have come to realize that the pharmaceutical companies are the biggest funders of mainstream media and for them to report on this would be like the old saying”biting the hand that feeds them” Therefore they just ignore this even though its huge and one of the most unjust and cruel things I have ever read or heard of in the medical field. We have established a 501c(3) in hopes of spreading awareness and trying to raise funds to keep some of these women healthy alive and in their homes. The name of our organization is TVTNO.org and the main purpose of this story is just to make the many women out there aware that there is no safe mesh and that if a doctor suggest putting a bladder sling in you my suggestion to you is to RUN.
