When it comes to design, Dutch shipyards tend to favor a more refined, and timeless exterior aesthetic, with clean, sweeping lines that are “built-to-last,” or a modern, bold and angular look, with an aggressive bow. Similar to the Italian market, the Netherlands is home to an equally diverse range of superyacht builders that tend to be based around the Netherlands’ famous “Yacht Valley.” Amels under Damen Yachting and Heesen lead the semi-custom segment, whilst Royal Hakvoort and Royal Huisman each bring over a century of shipbuilding tradition to their custom and semi-custom projects.
