A 13-year-old girl who shot a couple at a beauty store in July is “not a monster” and should not be certified to stand trial as an adult, the head of the NAACP office in St. Louis said Tuesday. The man and woman, both in their 70s, were shot July 19 while working at their daughter’s store, Kings Beauty Supply, at 10073 Lewis and Clark Boulevard in Bellefontaine Neighbors. Adolphus M. Pruitt said the girl is, in essence, a poster child for juveniles who are neglected by the system.”
