Mamdani Echoes Mao Regarding Oppression of Landlords

The last thing you want to be during a communist revolution is a landlord. In China under Mao, landlords had their property confiscated. Mobs acting with the approval of authorities beat and often killed them for having committed “exploitation” by providing people with a place to live. Deaths related to “land reform” numbered in the millions. In New York, Zohran Mamdani is just getting started.

The New York Post reports:

Tenant complaints have surged 25% this year compared to last year in New York City…

The surge comes after the Mamdani administration has repeatedly encouraged “ripped off” tenants to file grievances for the tiniest things.

Complaints are filed before the landlord is even made aware of the problem. Clogged toilets are a favor issue, although this is rarely the landlord’s fault. Other complaints include not liking the color paint on the walls.

Complaints in Brooklyn — home to the “Commie Corridor,” a stretch of heavily Mamdani-supporting neighborhoods such as Bed-Stuy, Bushwick, Williamsburg and Greenpoint — are rising at the quickest pace. …

The corridor has been at the heart of City Hall’s efforts to galvanize renters to join forces against landlords, who are anathema to the communist view that private property should be collectively owned.

Sinister sped Cea Weaver — Director of the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants — encourages tenants to call 311 to register complaints. She regards property ownership as a “weapon of white supremacy” and has cited “the government’s sacred right to seize property.”

Proclaims Mamdani, “no issue is too small” when it comes to reporting landlords.

Mamdani’s controversial Office of Mass Engagement has even gone canvassing with the Democratic Socialists of America to encourage tenants to “band together” against landlords, knocking on doors in Flatbush just last week.

Scumbags of the sort who would vote for Mamdani make these complaints instead of paying their rent. According to their thuggish and parasitical ideology, expensive housing should be provided to them for free.

Reports a tenant in the pricey East Village,

“I actually have a tenant that feels that he does not have to pay his rent because of Mamdani. They feel like they are absolutely entitled to have a free ride.”

If Mamdani succeeds in eradicating landlords as a class like his role model Mao, the housing shortage in New York will become exponentially worse.

Maybe the plan is to construct nightmarish Cabrini-Green type housing projects. Those lucky enough to secure an apartment can let “the rich” pay their rent — provided anyone who works for a living has not yet escaped from New York.
