A Brownsville father convicted in the beheading of his three children is set to be executed on Nov. 12, 2026.
Execution is the only reasonable punishment for such a crime.
John Allen Rubio was convicted in the brutal murders back in 2003. He’s spent the last 23 years fighting his death sentence.
Those kids could have grown up to have kids of their own in that much time. Justice delayed is justice denied. But at least no one made a folk hero out of him, as with Lindsay Clancy, who is likely to get away with a similar crime.
Julissa Quesada was three years old, John Rubio was one year old and Mary Jane Rubio was just 2 months old.
Strangling, stabbing, and then beheading them required being insane. He even claimed his children were possessed by evil spirits. Why punish this put-upon victim of mental illness?
