Newly Elected Democrat Rep LaKesha Womack Faces Felony Charges
Policy positions recently pushed by Democrats include defunding police, imprisoning ICE agents, cashless bail, effectively legalizing minor crime, and abolishing prisons. Prominent Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom proclaims he will commute all death sentences in California. Democrats represent criminals at the expense of the law-abiding population. As they achieve more power, we will increasingly be ruled by people like LaKesha Womack.
The Daily Signal reports:
Womack is set to be sworn into the 120th Congress in January, unseating first-term Republican Rep. Tim Moore in North Carolina’s 14th Congressional District.
Womack unexpectedly beat Moore by just over 2 percentage points in North Carolina’s 14th District, a race called Thursday morning. But, as reported by the Daily Signal, Womack was served with a criminal summons in a felony case ahead of the election and is set to appear in court Tuesday.
She stole a car. Specifically,
The congresswoman-elect faces a Class H felony charge for allegedly failing to return a rental car valued at $20,000. If found guilty, she could be sentenced to up to two years, though this would not automatically disqualify her from the House.
In fairness, $20,000 is a grain of sand on the beach in the context of what Congress takes from taxpayers. Also, voters elected LaKesha to write the laws, not to follow them.
LaKesha offers her defense:

She was homeless and so mentally unbalanced as to be contemplating suicide. How heartless of the capitalists at Budget to expect her to return the car.
