Don Roberts

Don has been a member of the Wildrose Party since 2010, and was a Director for Airdire-Chestermere from the time that Rob Anderson, MLA became a Wildrose MLA.  In 2011 Don was elected as CFO/Treasurer of the Foothills-Rocky View CA and was on the founding Executive of the Chestermere-Rocky View CA when it was formed at the drop of the writ for the last election.  Don was the Co-chair of the highly successful election of Bruce McAllister, who was among the highest margin winners in the 2012 election.

Don became a member of the Wildrose Party, as he found that it closely represents his personal feelings.

Professionally, Don is with PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. and is currently a Senior Vice President and Associate Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.  Don is the Agri Business leader in the Corporate Advisory and Restructuring practice.  He has a strong background in financial institution management and a broad range of business experience.

Don is a Associate of the Institute of Canadian Bankers (AICB), Certified in Management (CIM) – Canadian Institute of Management, Professional Manager (P. Mgr) – Canadian Institute of Management, Member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP), Member of the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors (CAFA), Past President and Chairman of the National Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors (CAFA), Licensed Real Estate Associate Broker in Alberta, and holds  a Level 2 (Secret) Security Clearance from Government of Canada (CIISD).

Don has also provided his time to his community and has served Chestermere as the founding Chairman of the Chestermere Policing Committee, as well as a member of the Municipal Development Plan committee, and is currently Chair of the Chestermere Planning Commission, Chair of the Audit Committee, and a member of the regional Assessment Review Board.  He is also Past Chairman of the Hockey Alberta Central Zone Referees Committee and is currently Treasurer of that organization.

Don has been married to Monica for 36 years and is the proud father to three adult children, and Grandfather to 8 grandchildren.

The future of Alberta for all Albertans is a major priority for Don.
