Bro when Jesus made the statement at Matthew 24:36 “No one knows the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father,” it was absolutely true at the time he said it. But God never intended for His secrets to remain hidden forever. He made sure to avoid any possible misunderstanding of that beforehand through Amos. There we learn that God always reveals what He is doing to His prophets before He takes a step that huge. Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”

What you said had merit but it isn’t the full story. Ironically I use the point when debunking the trinity doctrine. If Jesus and God were in truth one in the same, and they certainly are not, you mean to tell me that one godhead figure wouldn’t know what the other was thinking, planning and when they would execute it? Seems awfully peculiar to me. I’m not buying it!

Anyway, Jesus provided the fig tree parable at Luke 21:29 “And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.” which told us to be watchful. What exactly were we to be watchful for if God had no intention of letting us know in advance what He would do.

Other corresponding passages like ones in Matthew point to specific scripture elsewhere where more is revealed. Let’s read beginning at Mathew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Okay, lets haul buckets to the Book of Daniel. Dan 12:7 “And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. 8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. 11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. 13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.”

Okay now we have a chain of events, the apostasy, falling away or scattering of the church. We have the wicked not understanding God’s Word. When the sacrifice or Sabbath is taken away that results in an apostasy we are given a twelve hundred ninety day count. Now we know when clock starts ticking. To date these prophesies have already taken place.

If we skip over to 2 Thess 2:1 “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

The Worldwide Church of God’s leader Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong, God’s prophet passed away not long after God had led him to restore scriptural doctrine. The pastor who replaced him was a man named Joseph Tkach Sr. Once he took control of God’s Church possessing all the power and authority he raised himself above God, changing the Churches doctrine reverting back to how it was before Mr. Armstrong. The Church embraced the pagan tradition of Christmas or celebration of Christ’s birth on Nimrod’s December 25th birthday.

Rather than to honor God’s Holy Day of Passover, they went back to participating in an annual ritual that honors the pagan goddess Ishtar called Easter. That’s bad right? But that’s not even the worst of it. This evil scheme literally removes the only evidence Christ would give the pharisees that he was the Messiah. He told them he would remain in the tomb for three days and night like Jonah did in the belly of the wale.

If Jesus was crucified Friday (Good Friday) near it’s end, then he was raised Sunday morning as the Easter story goes then this time span fall far short of the three days and nights promised. Now either Christ is a liar or this doctrine is one hundred percent wrong! According to God as with creation dark was there then it was illuminated by light, so begins the day. From evening to evening. Sunset to sun set. I’m confident you can see the importance of this.

When Mr. Tkach made this proclamation to the Church the Church disintegrated. It split up into over five hundred individual churches. As a sign to His Church that Tkach was the man of sin exactly forty days to the hour after making the declaration God took his life just as he said he would in 2 Thess. 2:8 “And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:”

After a time protected, a remnant emerged who had held faithful to God’s truth. The Church of God PKG or preparing for the Kingdom of God. The the entire Church during the Laodicea era was spit out of God’s mouth, left without His Spirit guiding and directing them. Through this remnant God started working, He called a prophet and an apostle who became the pastor of the Church. The Church has an established timeline of when Jesus is to return based on knowledge and understanding of scripture which has been illuminated as never before through.

I promise by telling you this I’m honestly not trying to enlist you or push in the direction of this particular Church. This Church does not enlist it believes God does the calling, man has no such authority. I just hope this helps you better understand how God doesn’t keep those who love and obey Him in the dark.
