New York Times: Calling Us Fake News Is Like Adolf Hitler

According to his biography, Tim­o­thy Sny­der is the Housum Pro­fes­sor of His­to­ry at Yale Uni­ver­si­ty and a mem­ber of the Com­mit­tee on Con­science of the Unit­ed States Holo­caust Memo­r­i­al Muse­um. He is a winner of the Han­nah Arendt Prize and serves as the fac­ul­ty advi­sor for the For­tunoff Archive for Holo­caust Tes­ti­monies, and sits on the advi­so­ry coun­cil of the YIVO Insti­tute for Jew­ish Research. He is the author of The Road To Unfreedom, On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons From The Twentieth Century and Black Earth: The Holocaust As History And Warning.

In 2009, Snyder addressed the European Parliament at the 2019 International Holocaust Commemoration Day Ceremony. The event was organized by the European Parliament Working Group on Antisemitism in partnership with the European Jewish Congress and under the high patronage of Antonio Tajani, President of the European Parliament.

It turns out that three of our least favorite things in the world – the liberal order, the hostile Jewish elite that dominates it and profits from it and its clerisy of defenders and apologists in the Jewish-owned mainstream media – were disliked by Adolf Hitler.

“On Oct. 16, 1919, Adolf Hitler became a propagandist. It would be his chief occupation for the rest of his life. Without propaganda, he could never have become a public figure, let alone risen to power. It was as a propagandist that he made a second world war possible, and defined Jews as Germany’s foe. The form of his propaganda was inextricable from its content: the fictionalization of a globalized world into simple slogans, to be repeated until an enemy thus defined was exterminated.

Before 1919, Hitler was a slacker and a soldier. He was a subject of the Hapsburg Empire, born in 1889 just on the Austrian side of the border with imperial Germany. An indifferent student adored by his mother, he spent his youth dreaming of fame and keeping his distance from other women. Without having finished school he moved to Vienna in 1907, hoping to enter the art academy. He failed its entrance exam, and then his mother died. He spent the next six years in Vienna collecting his orphan’s pension. He sold some paintings and told stories about his plans to become an architect. …”
