Caitlin Clark wants critics to shut up after Fever beat Dream
There was a lot of pressure on Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever heading into Thursday’s marquee matchup against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream. The Fever were coming off a two-game losing streak and were in dire need of a win. They faced a tough test against the Dream, the top team in the Eastern Conference, who entered the matchup on a back-to-back winning streak.
Clark and Co. stepped it up when the lights were at their brightest. The two-time All-Star led the charge for Indiana with 17 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Kelsey Mitchell dropped 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting, while Aliyah Boston put up 19 points and seven boards.
It was a concerted effort by the Fever, who took down the Dream 83-71 to improve to 5-4 on the season.

Caitlin Clark addresses critics after Fever win
Clark had a lot to say after Indiana’s big win. Speaking to reporters after the game, the 24-year-old highlighted the importance of Thursday’s result for team morale. Clark also had a not-so-subtle message for the critics.
“I’m gonna say this in the nicest way possible, but hopefully it makes a lot of people just be quiet,” Clark stated. “And I know there’s always gonna be conversation, and I totally respect that, and I always understand that, but the sky’s not falling.
“That’s a special part about being in the position that, obviously, I’m in, and this organization is in. There’s always gonna be people that analyze every single thing that we do, and we would never change that. But I think people always make up stories about where our locker room is, or what my teammates think, or what I think, or what our coaches think, but this group is connected.”

There was a lot of talk after the Fever lost two in a row. For Clark, there’s no better response from the team than to secure a win in a big game.
Clark went on to praise her teammates’ grit and ability to battle through adversity as one unit.
“I think it spoke a lot to the character of the people that we have on our team, and the people we have in the locker room,” said the former WNBA Rookie of the Year.
“It could be one of those where everybody comes out, and is just still mad from the way we played, or thinking about themselves. But that wasn’t the case at all. You saw how selfless everybody is on this team. You wanted to give for each other. So I’m just proud of the group.”
Clark and the Fever will be looking to make it two wins in a row in their next game. They will be back on the road on Saturday for a matchup against the New York Liberty at Barclays Center.
