Colston Loveland opens up about the 1 thing he doesn’t enjoy in Chicago
Colston Loveland was instrumental to the Chicago Bears’ success last season. The 10th overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft started out as a backup for Cole Kmet. He eventually started 11 out of 16 games for the Bears.
The 6-foot-6 tight end finished the regular season with 58 receptions for 713 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Loveland was also included in ESPN’s NFL All-Rookie Team.
The 22-year-old rookie helped Chicago win the NFC North title with an 11-6 record.
In the 2025 playoffs, Loveland made NFL history. He became the only rookie tight end to have the most receiving yards in a single postseason.
Unfortunately, the Bears lost to the Los Angeles Rams in overtime, 20-17, in the Divisional Round.

Colston Loveland shares what he misses the most after one year in Chicago
Loveland was born in Goldendale, Washington, but grew up on a farm in Bliss, Idaho. He participated in rodeo events as a kid and was a bona fide farm boy growing up.
Before joining the Bears, Loveland was part of the Michigan Wolverines side that won the 2023 College Football Playoff championship. Being away from home for such a long time, the 22-year-old is now starting to miss things from back home.
During Chicago’s media day, the second-year tight end was asked about what he misses the most.
“I think I just miss the mountains,” Loveland said. “Whether that’s being on the farm or not, but just kind of being back home.”
Loveland then shared that he longs for the open air and space back home. The one thing he doesn’t enjoy about Chicago is how the urban forest makes him feel cramped.
“There’s so many trees out here,” he admitted. “You kind of get claustrophobic driving around sometimes. I like the open air and the mountains.”
The significant number of trees around the city will take some getting used to for Loveland. However, other than that, the young man has embraced his new city.
The Bears are expected to be a serious threat next season after their impressive 2025 finish. Chicago will be led by their quarterback, Caleb Williams. The duo of Loveland Williams will be a formidable matchup for their opponents.
