Corey Heim helps deliver another win for 23XI Racing team
The 23XI Racing team and owner Michael Jordan are having a heck of a NASCAR Cup Series season so far in 2026. As the Cup Series goes to the All-Star break, the 23XI team once again found themselves in the winners circle.
Corey Heim took home the checkered flag in the Brickyard 400 race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, winning the crown jewel in just his 15th career start in the Cup Series. It’s the second Cup Series win of the year for the part-time driver on 23XI Racing. He also becomes the second-youngest driver (24) to win the crown jewel behind only Jeff Gordon who was 23.
Heim made a daring pass to get by Denny Hamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing, and then led for the final 35 laps of the race. He held off Christopher Bell who finished second and then Joey Logano who was third.
“That was a damn handful. I was hanging on for dear life once the shade went down and the pace picked up,” Heim said. “That was a workout. This is a dream come true. Winning at the Brickyard, that is unbelievable. Thank you so much, fans, for coming out here. That was awesome. Oh my gosh. I had a break early with the pit cycle and just executed. Made not mistakes all day, my pit crew and my team 23XI did a fantastic job with my Camry.”
It marks the second-straight year 23XI has taken the checkered flag as Bubba Wallace won the race last year. Following the race, Wallace went over to congratulate Heim’s 67 race team.
Heim will join 23XI Racing full time next year as they will have three drivers. Tyler Reddick won three-straight races to start the season and Bubba Wallace continues to push for a playoff spot.
Drivers will take a week off now as they go into August and a tight race for the playoffs in the Cup Series. The series heads to Iowa on August 9th for a race as William Byron looks to repeat there.
