Chicago Bears rookie pass catcher leaves practice with injury
The Chicago Bears made the decision this off-season to move their offense forward with a young core of pass catchers. As a result, wide receiver DJ Moore was traded to the Buffalo Bills. That left Luther Burden and Rome Odunze as Chicago’s top-two wide receivers. Of course, Colston Loveland is poised to be the team’s leading pass catcher again this year after a stellar rookie season in 2025.
That being said, the Bears were in need of wide receiver depth after the NFL Draft. As a result, they signed Kyron Hudson as an undrafted free agent.
While he is not expected to be a major contributor on offense, Hudson does stand a chance of making the roster if he can prove to be a valuable depth piece.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Kyron Hudson left practice with an injury

Hudson was not a highly touted prospect coming out of college. In five seasons (four at USC and one at Penn State), he had totals of 95 receptions for 1,095 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Indeed, he has an uphill battle to make Chicago’s 53-man roster, and his chances of making the team rely on his showing up day after day and putting in consistent work.
Unfortunately for him and the team, he got injured in practice on Saturday:

It certainly sounds like Hudson suffered a soft tissue injury. Hopefully it will not take him long to get back on the practice field.
While his college numbers do not pop off the chart, he did have a solid season in 2024, recording 38 receptions for 462 yards and three touchdowns.
That is the kind of the production this Bears offense could really use in a role player.
